I do hope this does change Boogie for the better though. However if his weight is the issue, the flip side is the attitude to life and the people in that life. He's also got to change that.

@Danger and I have a friend like this. I'm gonna change his name to "Larry" to protect his identity.
Larry had it kind of rough. Grew up in the trailer park with a religious nut mom. His Dad died when he ewas around 20 years old. Had a exceptional kid. We kept saying "poor Larry" and gave him sympathy. His first wife, a hambeast, cheated on him and smoked crack around their exceptional baby. "Poor Larry". Larry was charged with domestic abuse and we were pretty sure it was fabricated. "Poor Larry". Crackhead wife let her boyfriend beat up the exceptional kid. "Poor Larry". At times various people in our circle of friends would take Larry in at points when he was down and out, for damn near a decade, everyone gave Larry a helping hand at one point. Eventually, it got to the point where we just finally gave up because most of Larry's problems were caused by himself and that he dug his own graves. It was his decision to raw dog it with his baby's momma. It was his decision to marry her despite being a crackhead. It was his decision to drop out of high school. It was his decision to fake his own suicide by scratching his wrists with a butter knife so unconvincingly that hte Psych ward laughed him off. By the time we hit our late 20s, "poor Larry" turned into "fuck Larry".
I hope he does well. I know a good percentage of people who get this surgery end up right back where they were though...hope his wife stops being an enabler and helps him stick to it.
oh yeah and he needs some serious therapy. a lot of this shit is mental moreso than physical
Spoony would back in his early days, but for him it was more part of his jokes so one would just gloss over what he said. Boogie though uses his as a way to get more pity bucks/ pats.
