It's simply a shorthand way of saying "I had the experience that I no longer existed as a seperate entity from the rest of the universe." This isn't an obscure thing that people don't understand. I'm fully aware of what I'm saying and I'm explicitly regarding psychodynamic theory as pure fucking horseshit that was outmoded in its own time, it just became trendy among the hoi polloi.

I do know what they're trying to say. But they're basing it on an entire false theoretical framework. The big problem I have with this idea is that all the available evidence shows there is no real true "I" or "ego" and there's no point in the brain where everything comes together, there is no switchboard where it all connects. Perhaps I sound a bit overreductive, but I think we need to investigate what this "feeling" they're talking about is, and I suspect moreso it has to do with a temporary inability to recall memories and a feeling of depersonalization. Remember, all these psychedelics we take today other than LSD and research chems, etc. were taken for thousands of years by cultures that neither pursued "ego death" and likely had no notion of it or something similar. That's an invention by hippie "spiritual" white people.

We need to do away with these folk psychology explanations and adhere more to discussion of the effects on the Default Mode Network (downregulation) and how these substances effect regions such as the Posterior Cingulate Cortex and the medial Prefrontal Cortex, among others. The brain is an interconnected yet somewhat chaotic system and psychedelics greatly disrupt the system temporarily (yet usually relatively harmlessly) and I find terms like "ego death" to be just too divorced from academic modern knowledge of how the brain and human psychology works.

So tl;dr I'm explicitly rejecting psychoanalytic theory with my post.

In the RTU stream, when Muta presents the receipts, notice how Boogie shut up and asked him to repeat himself multiple times? Re-read the evidence over and over? It's bogglingly obvious he was stalling to figure out an excuse to finagle out of that, but he couldn't think of anything and dipped like a whiny little cuntbitch.

"This is my favorite panel appearance from Boogie. He describes how there was a legitimate "hit" put out for him "on TOR" and how he reacted to him and a friend's life being in danger when Domino's pizza was being delivered to the house. He suggests that this was a genuine threat to his safety and something that he's just had to learn to deal with on a regular basis being as famous as he is. Naturally, none of the women get a chance to speak over him. The would-be assassin spent $3.500 for the hitman to kill Boogie but somehow fucked up the address and almost got his friend whacked. He also suggest that whoever ordered the hit on his life also gave him a friendly heads-up, sending Boogie the link and warning him that he's about to be merked. How kind!"
