Yes.
I think it's less sinister but more of a delusional trend chasing thing. To me, she's mimicking the "poker face, gender neutral" trend in fashion. Like it or not, it's intended to sell a product. They are trying to market most products as gender neutral.
Examples from Louis Vuitton.
The problem is, as many soulless poker face photos as they put out, plenty are normal.
You'll see that most them aren't really product photos. It's about lifestyle and brand promotion instead.
Most of the poker face type photos were shot in a more or less catalogue setting with vibrant backgrounds, so it just looks like a really good product photo (which is what they are). The background makes it look less depressing and contrasts whatever the models are wearing/holding instead. You'll get drawn to the product, not the person. The person feels less relatable.
Hers is nothing like this. It's spooky, dark, and it feels like I'm about to watch a true crime documentary of some familial annihilation case due to childhood abuse.
