Humans have pattern recognition. Generally speaking, phenotypes are real, and yes stereotypes exist for a reason even if they have been blown out of proportion.
That's why we would expect Smurf in Hand to look and act like a character from Wrong Turn. But the thought that your kindly, milquetoast neighbor could be burning the midnight oil writing baby Smurf torture stories is almost more terrifying than reading about the real crimes of Nick Bate, for example. It's a harrowing thought but there are probably far more "Smurf in Hands" out there than we think there are.

I mentioned some time ago that this story seems like it was written by someone with Munchausen by proxy, considering how much time and effort is put into the baby Smurfs' long and torturous recovery process. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if there's such a thing as a sexual fetish around Munchausen by proxy, mostly because of this fucking story.
