Blini are my comfort food. What I like about them is how versatile they are. Plain, stuffed, sweet or salty. There's something for everyone.
The question is: what's the best way to eat blini?
I'm personally a sourcream gal. But I'm interested in other kiwis tastes.

Blini has always been delicious to me! I like mine with jam, but sour cream is good too. Not too picky about it.

Forgive an ignorant Westerner, but how do you make blini? And what makes them different from crepes and/or pancakes?
Honestly, blini recipes varies from family to family so there's not a one diffinitive way of making them. When I make them, I completely eyeball it. Milk, flour, eggs, sunflower oil, salt and sugar. Some people add yeast, baking soda and other stuff but idk.
From what I understand, blinis are fluffier, softer and a bit thicker. Crepes have a smooth surface, while blini have a lace like appearance.
Also crepes are fr*nch so they automatically lose some points.

They look like small pancakes to me. I don't like savory crepes, and strawberry season is coming, so sweet blinis with strawberries and Nutella or dulce de leche sounds like a good combination.
I do like cheese tho, I should try making savory blinis with cream cheese and chives, and I'd like to add something else but I don't know what. Maybe olives?

Strawberries and Nutella sound delicious. With savory you can never go wrong with feta cheese, olives and sun dried tomato combo

Oh boy, this is a thread.

Used to like them sugary, - but I ate way too much sugar as a kid, - now I prefer them salty, maybe with meat, maybe with cheese.
