On the back way in from town, there's a ranch with a good number of beeves on it. One day I'm going by with my wife & kid and we spot a fresh calf along the fenceline, and the mother standing nearby, grazing. There are no houses behind mine; back yard opens onto a huge pasture that's leased out to a family that keeps horses on it--A gelding and a bunch of mares. One of the mares has been pregnant for a while now. Anyway, she was still pregnant on Thursday, then I was away for work all day Friday, walk outside this morning and:

Anyway, everything is retarded and gay right now but here's a baby horse.
I love liminal images like this. Weirdly comforting. On the back way in from town, there's a ranch with a good number of beeves on it. One day I'm going by with my wife & kid and we spot a fresh calf along the fenceline, and the mother standing nearby, grazing.
"Hey, new cow!"; dropped the windows & slowed down to a crawl.
"Wow, really new cow!"
Then we got close and saw the mama cow was grazing on placenta; but we heard it first, slopping & crunching & snarfling down the afterbirth. Then it looked up at us, placidly dribbling bloody cud & slime.
Circle of life lol.

I like how the kid goes through so many emotions in the span of a second, seeming like he regrets what he did for a bit before settling on the shit eating grin lmao.
Good beef on Kangaroo Island, apparently.Kangaroo Island. It’s an island a little ways away off the coast of South Australia if you were curious.

I’d love to see a quokka (or two) one day. Who gave these silly things permission to be so cute?Good beef on Kangaroo Island, apparently.
But see also Rottnest Island, which is home to these little guys. They're called quokkas, and are only found here, off the coast of Western Australia.
