So, with only 2 months before the biggest shopping day of the year (Black Friday), is anyone planning on shopping for anything specific?

What do you hope goes on sale? Are you looking for any deals? Where do you shop? And do you have any good Black Friday stories?

I'm not shopping for shit. Fuck Black Friday. And fuck you too.

When you have a large family, a limited budget, and you're the one shopping for Christmas and Hanukkah presents every year, you might start thinking differently about the sales offered on Black Friday. Every dollar counts, and Black Friday sales can mean more than big screen TVs and Walmart stampedes. Those sales may be the difference between getting nice presents for your family that they actually asked for, or getting them some cheap knock-off that turns out to be broken or defective because you bought it at a convenience store the night before the holiday.

Black Friday deals are a marketing scam. Every single item I could ever want I can get cheaper by monitoring sales online throughout the year.

I have a gift wishlist for the people I buy presents for that I periodically add to on Amazon. If I see it go for a drastically reduced price there or somewhere else I buy it. This is how my Christmas shopping is already done in September and I will be spending Black Friday doing pretty much anything else.

Enjoy getting trampled and/or bludgeoned half to death over a discounted waffle iron then.

Black Friday's only just become a thing here in the UK in like the past 3 years or something. I don't participate. The only people I really buy physical gifts for are my sister, boyfriend and niece (I get my parents a box of chocolate each year as that's all they really want, they're not big fans of physical tat) and I usually get them useful things like pyjamas.

I've never seen anything that made it seem like it was worth the hassle.

I did get some good deals on post-Xmas sales on my refurb laptop and the big pile of ram I shoved in it.

Umpteen years ago before it was quite so full retard my mom had me hit the malls in the area for some free Mickey ornaments because I got off work at 6am and the malls opened at 7.

It's been a few years since I've been able to do Black Friday, honestly. It was a fun tradition my mom and I had but I'll most likely be working one or (probably) both of my jobs.

After working in retail on BF, I stay as far away from any shopping as I can on that day. Which is a saying a shit ton because I love shopping.
