Today is the first day. It's the Umoja, where we celebrate family, community and the unity of our African ancestors.

The traditional gifts to your close family are rolling papers and lottery tickets (seriously), and the family meal tonight should be served African style (use your own judgement).

I hope everyone has a Kwaaaazy Kwanzaa, just like Yakub intended.

How will you celebrate?

Wow, this really is the Kingdom Hearts of religious holidays.

Here's a short movie for the season. Happy Kwanzaa my Yakubian brothers and sisters!

Imagine being so Jewish you steal a 2000 year old Jewish religious holiday, credit no one but yourself.

No this was not photo-shopped in the least bit.

I feel like they really peaked in trying to push Kwanzaa's relevance -in spite of its clear lack of it- in the 90s and they just kinda gave up by the early 00s. Every kids show seemed to have a Kwanzaa special and all the important people and talking heads would be sure to bring it up. Pretty much nobody brings it up seriously anymore.

It's almost like a religious celebration that celebrates nothing worth celebrating and based on no actual religion, for group of people who have nothing in common other than their skin color, just has nothing to make it last. (On that note, this probably is why most white supremacist movements fall apart as well....)

The superior African holiday in December is Geloftedag (Day of the Vow, literally "Covenant Day") formerly called Dingaansdag (Dingaan's Day), which is observed on 16 December.

It commemorates the covenant that the Boer people made with their Calvinist God on 16 December 1838, which enabled them to buck-break the Zulu tyrant and usurper King Dingaan and his 10 000+ warriors at the Battle of Blood River, saving the remaining Boer people in the Natal region of South Africa from being wiped out by Dingaan.

Remember the significance of the Kwanzaa colors, gold, green, and black.

Gold is for the great wealth of the African peoples. Literally the most wealthy people on Earth. Remember this when blacks try and say they are being discriminated against with economic inequality. They are actually much wealthier than any white person could ever be.

Green is for the lush acres of vegetation of the African continent. If Africa is known for one thing, it's their superior agricultural prowess. Please ignore that Africa, in contrast to every other region in the world, continues to decline in food production year after year.

Black is of course for their superior skin color. BLACK! In the past, black was seen as a derogatory term and they preferred other terms such as negro, colored, African, etc. The current acceptable term for niggers is BIPOC which sounds like some sort of cave dwelling monstrosity from dungeons and dragons. Oddly enough, blacks still act like the same feral creatures no matter what they are called so blaming their actions on their lable is kind of a moot point.

Merry Kwanzaa! Remember, blacks are the world's largest consumers of cognac and the world's smallest consumers of books.
