I want to know where this idea of "free speech means I can say literally anything and face no consequences for it" comes from. I've been wondering it for a while, honestly.
For so long as the idea has functionally existed in law, there have been carved out obvious exceptions for a whole host of things.
Literally how the fuck could conspiracy be a crime otherwise? Or libel? Or slander? Notwithstanding that no country has ever brokered singular, universal, wholly unmitigated "free speech."

Defenders of free expression have never gone out of their way to defend actual threats of violence - or even expressions, like Siggy's, that were too close to the real deal. The point has always been that if people are suppressed from being able to call a dumb tranny a fucking blight and drain on society that's grooming teens to cut their bits off, it's going to end up worse if you stifle them with the government's blessing than if you either ignore or rebut them. There's no legal body nor political body which has ever achieved so much as changing a lightbulb which supports the idea of you being able to say "I'm going to commit this violent act of terror at this place" and avoiding heat for it.

Despite the fact that I enjoy the political content, attracting the kinds of spergs who unironically support "lol u can say ANYTHING dont b a pussy" adds nothing. A regular shitpost can at least get a laugh, though, but these people are just, like. You're engaging with some sped who isn't in charge of their own pocketbook 100% of the time, taking on a considerable risk of them fedposting... for what benefit?

Not making credible threats of violence that can get Null in trouble and the site taken down seems fair, and we should respect Null's authority over his own website.

Yes, some of the more extreme posts are funny, but it is the sort of funny you experience when your buddy rips a massive fart in an elevator, you laugh....then you realize that you are trapped in said elevator as well.

There are 3 categories of people in this thread:
Karens who want fedposters to be banned anyway
Free speech advocates who dislike the choice but respect null as a person
And people who should fuckin kill themselves
 
Any site that values itself as a free speech haven is going to attract certain political and religious fanatics not because they appreciate freedom of speech but because they are banned from anywhere else and are simply looking for another community to exhaust and try to take over to bend to their standards.

It happened to 4chan and it can easily happen to kiwifarms. The spergs either turn the place into an hostile echo chamber with no self awareness and free speech is over or they get the feds to shut it down and free speech is over as well. The third would be to have an hyper autist moderation but then free speech is over too! Just look at lolcow.farms, probably the most unhinged fucking mod squad, we should'nt need the fucking radfem inquisition just to gossip on a site.
 
Seems reasonable. If you deleted the A&N/Happenings boards entirely and banned political discussion this place would be even comfier than it is now. There are a million billion websites people can go to and ree about Orange Man.

Kiwi farms is an opening and welcoming place for everyone no matter if they have different political beliefs, different religion beliefs, religion, race, occupation, etc.
Most of the troons who are getting mocked on dedicated threats for them are just attention whores/clout chasers.

I know, I know. But the gaming threads here are like the last game-related threads I can lurk on without getting the sense its all one big shill like Reddit or Twitter. I can read what actual gamers are thinking about various games. I would hate to see it go because someone decided he was going to kill someone else and was dumb enough to talk about it first.
