Like christmas gaming memories, but on your birthday. I'll go first cause I thought of it.

This was back during my birthday either when I was just a teen or before that, back when ps 1 was still the hot gaming console. For my birthday I was given Silent Hill, I guess because it came out around that time and they figured it'd be similar to resident evil 2 which we played a lot. Well, I remember putting the game in and feeling nauseous at the very start where you're trapped by the monster children, and turning the game off presumably so I could say to my parents "hey, at least I tried it." I didn't pick it up after that.

It wasn't until a few days later that I saw my sister playing it a whole bunch and finally beating the game and it's several endings. And ever since I steered away from Silent Hill, my sister not only enjoyed the hell out of that game, but she became a huge SH/MGS/Kojima fan, playing almost all the games released for those two series. She even has a jacket with a foxhound emblem that she stitched into it. I'd like to think that it was my uncaring attitude that one birthday that got her into those kind of games.

I on the other hand, started playing more sonic. *rates autistic*

Last October, I got some money as a birthday gift. I used said money at a nearby Gamestop to buy Armored Core: Verdict Day. As far as memories go with it on that day in terms of playing, I learned I had to literally respec my AC for some missions since the game itself actually notched the difficulty at a higher level than V. Especially since some missions would have me near death and my rank at the end would be a D.

Once for my birthday I got a Gameboy Advance as well as Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. I remember thinking the reflections in games were the best things ever.
Dude that shit blew my mind. Making foot prints in the sand too

My 9th birthday coincided with a pretty lengthy operation on my legs.

Afterward, when things seemed their suckyest, I got my present: a Gameboy Advance.

I got Klonoa for it, and I beat it in two days. For the rest of my time I was playing Mario, though it was a little harder to play.

I stopped to watch Space Jam with another patient.

Tl:dr GBA rules.

I remember a couple of years ago that my brother and sister knew that I liked the Legend of Zelda series so much that they each independently gave me a copy of Twilight Princess, so I had two copies.

Sweet!

Not only is it an awesome game it kept its monetary value for far longer than was reasonable.
