Big Brother contestant removed over 'unacceptable language'

A Big Brother contestant has been removed from the reality show for the "repeated use of unacceptable language and behaviour", ITV has said.

George Gilbert had received warnings earlier in the series and was seen in Monday's episode being reprimanded by Big Brother for mocking a fellow housemate.

A spokesperson for the show said: "Following repeated use of unacceptable language and behaviour, George has been removed from the Big Brother House with immediate effect and will no longer participate in the programme."

Gilbert's latest comments will not be aired because they are contrary to broadcast standards, ITV said.
The 23-year-old actor-turned-parish councillor from Braintree, Essex, had previously received warnings for unacceptable language.

It's understood that most were not broadcast. However, Monday's episode showed Gilbert being reprimanded by Big Brother for imitating another housemate during a game of Truth or Dare.

Big Brother referred to one moment in the game when he was asked about his least favourite qualities of other housemates.

"You then went on to mimic Sam using both noises that mocked the way Sam talks and body language that included limp wrists," Big Brother said.

"Do you understand how both your language and behaviour could be offensive to Sam, your housemates and the viewing public?"

Gilbert replied: "We did have a conversation about this, I have apologised, I don't want to make anyone feel like that."

Big Brother then confirmed it was issuing him with a formal warning, and said rules regarding language and behaviour are explained to all housemates before entering.

ITV has also said housemates receive training in respect, dignity and inclusion.

Gilbert was one of the contestants who was up for eviction this week, alongside Elsa, Cameron and Richard.

Friday's eviction will continue as planned despite his removal, ITV said.

I've never actually watched Big Brother and I didn't realize it still even existed but isn't the entire premise of the show that it's a bunch of people stuck in a house who shit talk eachother and scheme against eachother like some kind of shitty soap opera?

The fatal mistake. Once Gilbert did that he just confirmed that he was their bitch. Who is Gilbert anyway? The meme about no-one knowing who the celebs are in celeb BB has far surpassed mere memery at this point.

The first (aside of agreeing to do this freak show in the first place) and most consequential mistake. At this point he knew without doubt that he was subjecting himself to reddit/bluesky "reality" and any moral authority he might have had was lost.

Then what's the point of watching if there's no villain in the house? Entertaining fights? Going by this logic for all Big Brother franchises in history and seasons, you might as well eliminate most of the cast.

There's been no point in watching BB for many years. The conflict has always been as manipulated/generated by the show's production team but any sense of reality has long gone. In the very first UK BB we had "Nasty Nick" whose heinous crime was covertly trying to influence eviction votes only for the posh boy to be exposed by the salt of the earth working class scouser (no narrative manipulation there guv 'onest). By series 5 we had "fight night". One the one side we had the most obnoxious stereotypically camp faggot providing the best argument ever seen for gay-bashing and his two repulsive fag hags. On the other we had the ginger jock who fancied himself as a buffed ladies man and alpha male and his nig sidekick who claimed the ladies called him the "milkman because he always delivered" and was subsequently ridiculed for whining to camera that he had "the sniffles". The production team wound that one up to the point where real violence was looking likely. Panic ensued and a largely faggety production went full faggot and quickly lost almost all relevance.
