She was right about herself but not about Jimmy. With her, he was the kind of man who would put his life on the line to save her. Without her, he's pretty much a piece of shit at this point.
Such a wonderful time jump to him. He really just has nothing. The realization that the Saul we saw in Breaking Bad, that was it. There was really nothing else behind the scenes because he suppressed and pushed back all the bad memories so much and let his shallow cartoonish Saul persona take over.
An interesting part I noticed about his acting in the heartbreaking terminal scene with Kim was that he reverted back to his over-the-top acting style from Mr. Show, except (from Jimmy) it was completely sincere and desperate. We've been looking for the scene where Jimmy died for good and Saul took over and that was it.

I hate the half-season thing AMC does. They could've easily split it into two full season with some more court subplots and Mike stuff or just cut out filler and done one. Breaking the season in half forces them to do both at once and fucks up the pacing.
I would have hated that scene a whole lot less if there wasn't four fucking episodes left.

I think AMC had to break up the season because Bob Odenkirk had a heart attack while filming. I heard it was the episode before the last one is when it happened.
Splitting the season in two was always the plan, IIRC, as Breaking Bad did the same thing with its own final season.

Bob recently corrected that. With odd symbolism, it occurred literally during the scene with Lalo, where Jimmy was trying to save Kim's life. Then Rhea Seehorn literally saved Bob's life in reality. They didn't go right back to shooting the Lalo scene.
