Come to think of it, I do like how much of an improvement, visually, that the 2nd Generation of the Nissan Leaf looks, compared to the original one:

Sadly, the 2nd Generation Leaf still didn't fix the major drawbacks of the 1st Generation Leaf, namely the very odd gear shifter, the slow battery charging rate, and still using passive air cooling for the battery, which lead to significant battery degradation on the older Leafs. Also, I don't like the asymmetrical design of the driver's dash, with the digital display on the left, and an analog speedometer on the right. Yes, I do prefer analog gauges, over digital ones, but the fact that they designed it like that makes it come off as a cost-cutting measure, as the current generation Nissan Versa has that same dash setup too.

The PlayStation logo (on disc) from 2 to 3.

Notice the logo and banner. On PS2, it's just matte. Flat.

The artistic design with the PS3 Spider-Man font gives it depth and definition. A "shine" to say. Logo looks more three-dimensional.

Generally, if a car body looks boxy. Or bulky, then "sinks" at the end.

Since you asked, let me give you an example that fits this thread. The Volkswagen Beetle.

The original design from the 40-70s I find to look metallic, ugly and bolted together.

Then VW came out with the New Beetle in '97. They kept the original shape foundation of the original and refined it to make it look more modern.

Now that's more stylish to drive around. Iconic, modern, unique and small. Each new iteration has gotten better and better over time.

I'm speaking towards 06-10. The ultimate New Beetle. Wheels are actually rims, not cheap hubcaps.

CGI Skeletor’s design has honestly grown on me. Especially now that the show’s actually come out.

Certainly helps that in the show he’s actually pretty entertaining and funny, which makes a nice contrast to his much bigger and muscular look.

Gives me major Transformers Prime vibes as someone who watched both it and the original He-Man, the Skeletor redesign is just packed with personality... yes, I like Overlord and Ainz is a great character, skeletons are top tier.

the exia's aren't redesign, just variations, at least post the MG or RG illustration and compare with the original anime lineart or something.

While the deathclaw's design in the older fallout games is by no means bad, and the redesign is nowhere near as drastic as some of the other examples shown here, I adore the newer design. I love how they've made it so much beefier than the previous iterations, it makes it look like the apex predator its supposed to be. They also tweaked some of its animations, making it look much more animalistic and feral when it walks. I also like the little additions like how it has thick, crocodile-like scales, larger horns that also make its skull look larger, a cluster of spikes on the back, and a thicker and spikier tail. The original looks almost diseased and anorexic when compared to the newer model, and while I understand that it's malnourished appearence was probably meant to reflect how bad the wasteland is, and I wouldn't be surprised if many people actually prefer the older design, I still feel like the more muscular model better shows how this is meant to be a powerful predator and bioweapon.

I am a F1 and F2 fan who struggles to find anything good about the Bethesda games but one of the very few thing's they got right in 4 was the look of the Deathclaw they made it intimidating just to look at.

The only other thing they really nailed was the Laser Rifle redesign -

The first looks like a experimental weapon, the bottom looks like it could be a issued weapon even if it was in small numbers as a form of extended field trial.
