Best PC games of the 2000s? - Are we officially oldfags now?

Age of Mythology was awesome. Age of Empires 2 was 99 but the Conquerors came out in 2000 so I'm gona toss it into the mix too. The 2000s were a great time for RTS games. The entire genre seems to have died recently and I don't really know why.

It's weird how it went from mid-late 90s and 2000s being fantastic with Command & Conquer/Red Alert, Total Annihilation, Starcraft Brood War, Red Alert 2, Tiberian Sun, Warcraft 2 and 3, the Age of Empires/Mythology series (at least until AoE III hit), Emperor: Battle for Dune, some of the best Total War games, Homeworld... into later dross like C&C3, Red Alert 3, Starcraft 2, the Warcraft 3 remake, later Total War fuckups...
 
The 2000s were a decent enough time for PC gaming. In no particular order:

Actually, quite a lot of games worth playing.

And for a few semi-obscure ones, MDK2, Giants: Citizen Kabuto, and Armed & Dangerous. Planet Moon Studios died a lonely death ten years ago after making a fucking Disney adaptation game. They deserved much better.

TFW it took three pages for F.E.A.R to be mentioned, I'm so disappointed in you guys

Also Area 51 was the shit, I wish somebody could remake/remaster it so I can experience the glory of a double barreled SPAS-12 again. (And yes, you can dual wield and fire all 2/4 barrels at once.)
 
Oh, and also, of course, the CODs (already mentioned), SupCom, and Rise of Nations.


 
System Shock 2 and Mechwarrior 3 just missed the cutoff (released in 1999).

Morrowind was indubitably one of the best open-world games I've played. I remember wandering somewhere at night, and seeing the twin moons rise and being struck by how damn pretty it looked. If I didn't think Bethesda would fuck it up, I'd beg them for a graphical remaster.

While the original campaign of Neverwinter Nights was... less than ideal, the Aurora Engine's capabilities led to some absolutely fascinating stuff, like entire fan campaigns and even quasi-MMO settings.
