Blade Runner. I read Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep and there were many paragraphs, especially at the end, where I had to re-read them multiple times and it still made me wonder what the fuck did I just read?
The book was about humans losing their touch with humanity but IMO it was for hardcore Dick fans. As it was the first Philip Dick book I've read, I was just confused by what was going on.
The movie removed some of the most schizophrenic parts like Mercerism, Luba Luft and the ending with the turtle in the desert, but retained the core theme of losing your humanity as personified by Harrison Ford being a dead-inside alcoholic contrasted to Roy Batty's limited time on the world used to its full potential.
