Benefit of citizenship in western countries

Is there one? Since I can't think of any. Voting is pointless since that, even if your vote had an actual impact in a fair elections, you are still only able to vote for parties that remained static for decades. If there is public healthcare then it's usually subpar and opened its gates to non-citizens. Deportation seems to work opposite so that the more helpful you are to a community so you are most likely to be deported, and finally the government steals a good chunk of your income (sometimes even if you don't reside in the country) to care for everyone who doesn't care about themselves.

Not all countries require you to be a citizen to vote, very often you only have to be a resident for X number of years or merely live in a locale at all. The idea you have to be a citizen to vote is far from universal.

Citizenship grants a certain degree of diplomatic assurances abroad. Not on all cases, but some states are very reluctant to take action against individuals who are citizens from more powerful states.

There are some states like Russia and North Korea who give zero fucks, but others like Malaysia tend to go a bit softer on members of powerful western states.

Their passports make crossing borders a lot easier, though that can be accomplished with certain Asian passports nowadays as well.
