BELLEVUE, Wash. — The Bellevue Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect they say vandalized the city’s LGBTQ+ Pride art piece.

Police said the suspect may be tied to three separate reckless driving and vandalism incidents targeting the city of Bellevue’s Pride art piece near the city’s downtown park.

“Any artwork we have in Bellevue, we kind of make it a point to promote it in Bellevue, so when someone comes and defaces it for no reason other than to vandalize something, it doesn’t make even less sense," said Lenny Gutierrez, who frequents the park.

In each of the three incidents, police say the suspect, who is described as a young male, was driving a dark gray BMW sedan without a license plate and conducting burnouts on the artwork. Police said in one incident, the vandalism happened in broad daylight and threatened the safety of other residents.

“That puts lives at risk. That puts other folks in danger because what if that suspect lost control of that vehicle," said Drew Anderson, PIO for the Bellevue Police Department.

Residents KOMO News spoke to fear that if this suspect is not stopped, someone could end up hurt.

“It’s right next to a park, and you’re right next to a kid's park. It’s a complete safety issue. You have restaurants and businesses, a completely residential area. It has to stop. It’s not safe," said Jessica Sipes, who lives near the artwork.

Bellevue police released information on the three separate incidents.

The really need to stop using public streets as a place to put their quasi-religious images. If anyone can be put in jail for a tire mark, the government has gone insane.

Thousands of bucks that could've bgone for filling potholes wasted on incorporating smarmy street art into the road infrastructure followed by further expenditure of thin police resources on finding a person who defaced said smarmy street art.

Not only can the left not meme? They can't even seem to govern in a way that doesn't cost 10x more than had they just done NOTHING.

Had they just had a generic and smarmy "we support pride!" image on their website? NONE of this would've happened.

I'm waiting for someone to full on "car that placed all the Toynbee tiles" and drive over the mural in a car with the floorboards removed so they can dump paint and shit all over it.

Downtown Bellevue going on a speedrun to be even shittier than the town everyone fled there from.
You'd think watching Seattle take a torch to their commercial real estate market over politics would've taught them something.
All I ask is the next town to try and seize on the opportunity is southward rather than northward.

I will do things in Minecraft if these dipshits manage to fuck up Snohomish.

Can't you just put your phone up and walk through there late night/early morning with a can of spray paint?

Well how would they entrap the chuds and charge them with hate crimes otherwise. The pesky first amendment prevents them from prosecuting people for hate speech.

From what I know, the only colors allowed for markings on roads or streets are white or yellow, so this shit isn't legal anyway. Otherwise, have no idea who performed this public service of eradicating the illegal markings.

What about this "pride art" even resembles LGBBQ++-- symbols?

You can't even consider this to be politically motivated, some guy just wanted to do donuts on some dumb ground mural. They're no doubt going to try to charge him with a hate crime anyways.

Bellevue is rapidly turning to shit. More bums and graffiti showing up, and it seems like every week there's a new carjacking or strongarm robbery there. The East Link light rail doesn't yet connect to Seattle but once it does, it's going to be over. The only question is where everyone is going to flee to.

>$13,537 in damages
They really want me to think this shitty mural was much more expensive than a couple buckets of special paint and two guys on minimum wage? Someone is obviously lying.
