I enjoy "fun" movies. Including martial arts movies. When I watch them with normies around, they sneer and snark with highly original criticisms like. "Why don't they just shoot him?" "Why don't they all attack him at once?" and the dreaded "that's unrealistic!". And yet, everybody loves Jackie Chan movies.

This got me wondering what other genres have these kind of beginner movies. As well as what movies you would consider to not be for people new to the genre.

As if they've seen Jackie Chan movies. He's one of those guys everyone says is cool by default, even with no experience of him or his work. Kung Fu Hustle is the most fun movie ever made, people who have no cares art all for martial arts movies still end up loving it in my experience.

I'm interpretting "beginner movies" here to mean a movie from a specific genre that may change the opinion of people who held little regard for that genre previously? If so, definitely Goodfellas for gangster movies and The Good, The Bad and The Ugly for westerns,

Holy Mountain is fun to show people without explanation but most normies will just get angry at you. Pre-2020 Neil Breen movies if they've already seen The Room. Don't show normies Blackplotation movies, they can't handle them.

Are you implying Boss Nigger isn't normie friendly?

So we're saying Jackie Chan are "beginner kung fu" movies? I'm not sure what the analog is here.
I think it's because the ones that get shown a lot over here are inherently silly. That said, they can watch fight scenes from movies like Bourne and The Matrix without issue so maybe I'm talking shit.

But normies seem to struggle to buy into films like The One or The Raid. And if it's something like Inframan, forget it.
