Someone commented this looked a fan movie and I wholeheartedly agree with them. I'm not someone who's neither nostalgic for the 80's or 90's and I have no interests in current media. As such it feels like you could change the characters with say, Casper, build on that nostalgia and have current actors in the role that everyone on Reddit would gush over. No thanks.

Honestly if this movie is the filmmaking equivalent of the Deets family moving into a rustic house just to use it as a tacky trophy home, I think it will boost the merits of the original movie. Literally lived long enough to see itself become the villain.

Both trailers makes me think they're going for a bit more legitimate horror vibe and toning down the camp a touch. Even though Keaton looks older and sounds gruffer, I think it goes well if it is a scarier movie they are trying for.
