Culture BBC: ‘Era of TV With White Men Imparting Knowledge is Over’ - Something something "muh diversity / representation"

https://www.breitbart.com/london/2018/08/26/bbc-era-white-men-knowledge-passed/

The era of TV shows in which white males impart information on a subject is dead, a top BBC executive has said, stating the corporation must find “different ways” of bringing expert insight and knowledge to audiences in future.
BBC Four editor Cassian Harrison, an upper middle-class white male, told the Edinburgh Television Festival that people are no longer interested in “static” television programmes featuring a white male presenter talking about a topic, The Times reports.

“There’s a mode of programming that involves a presenter, usually white, middle-aged and male, standing on a hill and ‘telling you like it is’. We all recognise the era of that has passed.

“What we’re looking for is different ways to shift a form. Different ways we can bring that specialism, that information, that insight to audiences,” he said, adding that the bosses of other BBC channels had also decided that the format was outdated.

Earlier this year the former head of BBC Comedy, Shane Allen, said a production like Monty Python with a cast of “six Oxbridge white blokes” would not be commissioned today, explaining that the corporation is instead intent on hiring people “who reflect the modern world”.

Speaking after a number of comedy programmes fronted by women and ethnic minorities were unveiled, Allen pointed to the relatively unknown recent BBC 3 sketch show Famalam, the whole cast of which is black, to highlight the corporation’s “diverse” new content.

Breitbart London has previously reported how the corporation offers highly desirable paid staff ‘internships’ which white people cannot apply for, claiming that the drive for ever-greater ‘diversity’ is to ensure the BBC’s workforce “reflects the UK”.

However, figures from last month revealed the public broadcaster employs more than 400 individuals who identify as transgender — a figure four times higher than the general population — and that the proportion of lesbian, gay, and bisexual staff members at the BBC was almost five times that of the country at large.

Neglecting to comment on the underrepresentation of heterosexuals in the corporation’s workforce, BBC diversity chief Tunde Ogungbesan instead insisted that more lesbians needed to be hired.

This is almost saying, white people aren't sitting and watching anti white propaganda anymore.

I'm looking forward to a BBC funded program about the Saturn 5 and Von Braun loses a rap battle to a tranny wheel chair bound muslim. Then some hot xir stands and explains WE WUZ SPACE SHIPS.

The icing on the cake? BBC is publicly funded so you brit cucks pay for it.

And this is why people aren't watching TV anymore.

I did some cursory digging on this subject because it fascinates me, but it seems like the UK's "TV license" tax is like a Netflix subscription that you're coerced into paying, but don't actually have to. If you don't pony up then you just don't get to watch the fine "programmes" on the BBC, and judging by the sound of it it's probably not worth it anyways.

So just don't pay it, and speak with your wallet? There's plenty of other shit to do and watch in [CURRENT YEAR]. I haven't had a cable package in almost a decade now and I don't miss TV one bit.

New era of TV for BBC

Tfw the autistic stories you come up with in your head in the goddamn shower are more entertaining than the woke shit they're putting on tv.

Have fun burning that cash away, blokes. Pretty sure anyone would rather sit down and watch an episode of Monty Python than...I don't know, whatever it is that BBC puts out today.

Not quite.

The Television License, a sort of hypothecated tax, is not limited just to the BBC's channels; if you or anyone in your household 'receives' (time-shifting is not an escape) any kind of domestic broadcast television, irrespective of medium, or uses their iPlayer service, a license is required.

Interestingly, if you download a recording of a broadcast without a license, you are not evading tax, and are merely possibly guilty of the lesser offense of copyright infringement.

Not good enough. I want to see David Attenborough, Kevin McCloud, Neil Oliver, and Adam Curtis beaten to death by a diverse cast of Muslims, women, and immigrants, who will then loudly proclaim "We iz tha BBC now" (possibly in Arabic or Pidgin too). Cue dozens of Buzzfeed-style videos and mass arrests as hundreds of thousands stop paying their TV loisense.

I'm looking forward to the era of being told how raping virgins cures AIDS and how to build huts out of mud.

"This is the famed Titan Arum, the biggest cluster of flowers in the world. Look at the huge flower column: it really looks like a beautifully sculpted dilator. When I get near I can smell the rotten stench it emits to attract pollinators. Honestly it doesn't really smell much worse than me two weeks post-surgery..."

This might actually mean somethig if anyone still watched television anymore. There is nothing TV can do that the internet can't do ten times better. You're just speeding up your irrelevancy with this forced diversity crap.
