btw its really cute that they give you bushwacker from the cartoon
also we kinda reached the point where writing will nose dive dramatically, and they already hinted on the whole Commonwealth civil war and word of Blake is a faction in the game
when they will stop with DLC's

You will get the Jihad, you will lose all your Mechs to Wobblie nukes, and you will be forced to buy shitty Dark Age RetroTech mechs as a result of the deindustrialization and technological backslide.
Not the Capellans, the Warrior Houses lost all of their mechs in a boating accident on Westerhand:

Its good. Get Yet Another Mechlab at minimum though since it adds some QoL features and gives you an actual mechlab and massively expands equipment choices.
Yeah, it's somewhat mediocre vanilla outside of a few DLC mini-campaigns that have actual levels and stuff, but with All Of The Mods it might be my favourite of the action games. Pretend it's a bethesda game and go ham before you even boot it up.
There's some AI mods but they break every patch so I don't know if they're currently working, or necessary, since they have gradually improved the base AI. There's also the option of quantity over quality anyway with mission type mods that let you drop into hell whenever you feel like it. I like those.

We've also reached the point where they don't have the resources to make loads of new models for Jihad mechs, I think if they were going to do Jihad they'd have to release a new game for it.

Question for the Mechwarrior video gamers. How is Mechwarriors 5 mercenaries? I've always been interested in trying it and saw it recently got another dlc. I've only been hesitant, cause i've heard that the AI or friendly AI is god awful. I have played mechwarrior online before with friends years ago, but wanted to try something more single player.
Depends a lot on how much you can get out of the dropping into procgen missions and company management gameplay loop. If you enjoyed playing MWO and have played HBS Battletech and enjoy it's gameplay loop you'll get plenty of time out of MW5Mercs.

TTRulez has been updated but I wish there was a way to turn off the AI torso twisting.

I am sincerely hoping they pinch off the 5s soon. Clans has reached Tukkayid, there's only two or so events left that are big enough to fill a DLC campaign.
and Mercs... my god, just give Mason a finale DLC where he finishes his fight with the Diamond Sharks and end his story already. I will actually scream if they try to push this old-ass game and its old-ass protaganists all the way into the Jihad.

How old is Manson and the crew?
Shouldnt he be like in his 50s if we say he was 18 at the start?
And Ryana should be even older not to mention Farrad

I kinda expected Mechwarrior 5 Clans to be the stepping stone / funding apparatus so they could make Mechwarrior 6, but then they rediscovered market segmentation and realized they could be triple dipping on shit by making 1 mech and using it in all 3 games. So who knows?

Surprised they haven't done a MWO2 or MWO expansion that's more live services, maybe with an asymmetrical map like how the Roguetech guys handle their online gameplay. (Offline matches are uploaded to a server and the map changes slowly based on that.) But then again they seem to have a good thing going with MWO so why take any big risks?

I always thought Mercs and MWO were the funding for Clans.

Its a topic that got discussed a lot a few years ago in the community and the end result is that its not really feasible to find someone who can learn and work on their iteration of CryEngine to change stuff and porting the game to UE5 was a big gamble that might not pan out, with how the playerbase has shrank and is likely going to drop below the Feb 2020 low point its certainly not going to happen now.

50 is Young for an IS Mechwarrior. Heck, Victors first son Kitsune is close to 100 years now and he still fights like a demon
The Black Widow was 84 when she got taken down by the Falcons on Twycross. By Clan standards that's positively decrepit.

Double post because editing is being weird. The game went well, ended up losing because we ran out of time, and my mechs were much more damaged than his. I took out his Mongoose; he took out my Crusader. I really like the Hatchetman, but he really didn't do much at all, and I feel like he should be faster than he is.

Centurion put in fucking work, though, and so did my little Firestarter.

I always feel like the Hatchetman is to light for good melee.
He's too lightly armored and too slow for how lightly armored he is, basically, was what I was saying.

Like, here's the Hatchetman I was using's armor profile
I like autocannons, but 13 tons of weight for 10 points of damage (AC/10 + 1 ton of ammunition) is a bit of a big waste on a mech that could use the weight better for a bigger and faster engine. If it had at least 5/8 movement or jumps, or if hatchets did actually reasonable damage, it would likely be a bit better tbh.

Elizabeth Hazen was 60 when she carved up some Liao insurgents with a Samurai sword when the DeChavilier Massacre occurred.

Alexandr Kerensky was around 77 when he led the final assault against Amaris's gates on Terra,

There should be a battletech encouragement poster showing all the old people that accomplished great things in-universe. Feels like a little something I've seen before IRL, but it could be more funny here.
