Baldur's Gate III Announced - ...and it's coming to Google Stadia and PC
None of them are perfect, but I'm surprised having three non-monster men to one non-monster woman isn't enough.
When it comes to the female dominated world of fanfic, Astarion is by far the most popular, Wyll and Halsin the least.
Eh, I've seen my fair share of women thirsting for him because he's like seven feet tall, super muscular, and is good with kids. Not nearly to the extent of Astarion, of course, but he's definitely not unloved.
I gotta admit, this game’s fanbase is really turning me off from playing this game, between all the degeneracy and the hyping up of it as the “most revolutionary and important game of the the decade” (to the point that it’s even one of the top rated games on Backloggd).
Its recent win at the Game Awards only adding more ammunition to said fanbase worshiping it doesn’t help.

Well, you can literally kill any and all characters in the game if you want and it’s a completely possible way to complete the game. Its freedom of “here’s a thing to do” is pretty damn excessive and complex.
Resoundingly OK. Horribly overrated, but still OK and well worth the price.
The reason that this game has so much hype around it is that if you just show the dialogue scenes, it almost looks like a stilted movie. Normies fucking love when games look like movies.
The story is pretty middling, the writing has arrested development, but the performances are incredible and the tech on facial mocap is superb. The classes are fairly shallow and most optimization leads not to synergy but to "now I can make 8 attacks in a turn," but honestly it isn't like most CRPGs turn into anything bug slogging buff-fests anyways. The new difficulty mode, hopefully, will ensure the game offers an actual challenge - with the double-edged sword that the abundantly useless archetypes' glaring flaws are harder to overlook. Because yeah, there's some archetypes that either don't work or suck ass because 5e is not well designed.
For the price, though, it's a solid 100+ hours that only really falls off in the final act - which is great, and even then I probably wouldn't notice how little I gave a shit about the plot if I wasn't a general CRPG fan. I do want to see if the new mode is actually fun, but Rogue Trader just dropped and I don't even really have the time to see how that one plays.
Well that was fun. I'm playing a Dark Urge and wanted to deal with the Gith Creche differently.
After getting access to the Inquisitor from the captain, I split my party. 3 went and fast traveled out and I invisbled past the Inquisitor and moved the statues and grabbed the mace. But I had no way to escape the energy barrier, so I just let the building collapse. My other characters revived me and Lae'Zel yelled at me about destroying the Creche. But at least I didn't have to fight the Inquisitor this time.
I might actually buy the game with all the good coverage. Just two questions: What is a good protagonist class? Usually martial classes are very limited in the ability to solve problems. And is Dark Urge good for the first time (without acting on it)?

Haven't done a full play through dark urge yet but it seems to get quite meta and the narrator really hams it up, seems more suited for a new game+ mode than a beginning option. I'd chose 3 origin characters to play with then chose a class that either compliments or won't contest gear
You are correct, athletics/strength rarely work in dialogue. To balance this Martial classes are the most damaging in all but the toughest difficulty setting.

I would advise getting a background like Noble that gives you persuasion proficiency. Dark Urge I think is best suited for 2nd or 3rd playthrough. You don't need to choose an origin, a donit steel oc works just fine.

If you want to socially finesse your way through, Bard/Sorc/Warlock/Paladin (and to a lesser extent, Cleric and Rogue) seem to be the way to go with how many charisma based checks there are in dialogue. All other classes are great for the murder path, with the Barbarian being the most hilarious.
Can someone explain to me how the tiefling refugees are allegedly woke pro immigration propaganda? I've seen probably a dozen reviews whining about this but after doing 100% of the quests regarding the emerald grove almost every tiefling is a liar and a thief that is actively plotting against the native druid population.
Am I nuts or did these people not actually play the game?
