Baldur's Gate III Announced - ...and it's coming to Google Stadia and PC

Huh…I thought handing Redhammer over to the mermaid women was the “good” option, but both Shadowheart and Wyll disliked me doing so. I guess it’s because they were gonna kill him.

I think the only time I felt the need to cheese the conversation system was fighting Gortash. First time I pulled him he won initiative, ran up to my MC and threw explosives at his own feet doing 70ish damage and killing my PC. So I reloaded, had Astarion stealth and Fuckbear invis, started a conversation and had both of them one shot Gortash's shield generators. I think that got me negative attitude but didn't actually start the fight for whatever reason.

There's a few fights where the enemy almost always wins the initiate score that I've felt are absolute BS. Since then I almost always give all my party members the Alert feat.

The first is Sarth Beretha at the gate in Act 1. Unless you're level 5 or 6, you're almost certain to lose that encounter because none of your fighter types have Extra Attack yet. Sarth Beretha will win the initiate and usually 1-shot at least 2 of your party members with attack, attack, action surge, attack, attack.

Next is Kar'niss, the Drider in Act II. Every time I've fought him he initiates with a 10 or 11 and does this multi-attack on the lowest AP character in my party. My last playthrough, this was my PC who was a Rogue and he was downed on Turn 1 before I ever got a chance to do anything. Really puts into perspective how losing a single dice roll can determine the outcome of a fight and how "skill" very often doesn't even factor in.

Then, a lot of folks are familiar with Flaming Fist Marcus who tries to kidnap Isobel. Sometimes he'll just straight up annihilate her in a few hits before you ever get a chance to retaliate.

The Gortash fight was absolutely insane in terms of this and I don't understand how Larian expects the player to win in that case unless they 1) preemptively know where to put their companions and 2) win the initiate.

Only advice I can give here is to give everyone the Alert feat.

Maybe they patched it, but I came up to the roof the 'wrong' way so I was outside. Then I sent one character over to open the doors and aggro him and get him to come outside into my teams killing zone. And I hadn't watched any walkthroughs, it just seemed like a good idea.

Yeah, there's a lot of ways to exploit or cheese the fight. Among them, you can use Improvise Weapon on him with a high Strength character and carry him to a balcony where you can just shove him off. But think of people playing the game who want the RP and they walk right up to him, do the whole talky thing, and combat is initiated. It's a huge downer if your PC is exploded before you ever get a chance to take your turn.

It took my some severe planning and I had to use a Globe of Invulnerability scroll when both Watches blew up at the same time, but I managed to keep everyone in the lab alive.

Saving pristess Lezbo isn't that hard if you park all your chars in her room and just nuke the guy, especially if you got the taunter warrior subclass for froggie.

My first playthrough, my character was a War Domain Cleric and I had the Alert feat so all I had to do was pop Guardian Spirits, stand close to Isobel, and call it a day. Most stuff gets vaporized as soon as they enter the circle. Later, when I discovered she was a carpet muncher, I immediately regretted my actions and decided to fire up a Dark Urge playthrough to set things right.

Speaking of urges, I've officially lost the urge to play the game anymore. I'd like to play as a Wizard someday and explore all the [Arcane] and [Wizard] options and learn all the spells from Lorroakan's tower, but I'm completely spent at the moment.

I just beat the Murder Tribunal, so after I beat Orin I have like two or three major plot lines to finish up before taking on Gortash and hitting the finalie. After that, I’ll probably take a break with the new Like a Dragon game and then go through my “have the most evillooking Durge character with the most evil powers be good” playthrough.

Finally restarted my playthrough. Colder weather is keeping me cooped up inside, so I guess it's back to video gaming.

And of course I die right immediately after a big fight ends. Fuck fire.

I'm really hoping mod tools come out soon-ish for this game. Have they announced anything yet? I remember how Neverwinter Nights had an amazing modding scene, I'd love to see what comes out for BG3.

Beat Orin but got the Halsin bear glitch so I’ll have to reset before the battle. Not really bothered though, fight will go a lot smoother now that I understand the gimmick.

I beat Orin earlier today myself, found it neat (and cathartic) that you can have her suffer a mental breakdown if you use Speak with Dead on her mother's body and then reveal the truth to her. She wasn't nearly as bad as Sarevok or the Farslayer of Bhaal; Sarevok kept curb-stomping me until I realized that the echoes buffed him even more each time they died, so I took out the one that prevents him from getting paralyzed and then used Hold Person to whale on him, saving the other two for last. Also fought him in that first room you meet him in because I knew there are even more mooks if you follow him into the next one. The Farslayer just about drove me insane, and after lots of trial and error, I eventually had Jaheira turn us all into mist clouds and just passed through undetected. Fuck that guy and fuck auto death.

Anyway, at least Halsin is safe and I can go back to taking my time.

Oh, I had a feeling about the Echos and took them out immediately before wailing on Savok. Orin was easy once I hit her with a Malic coated blade. Then I just let her attack my PC while my party took out everyone else and I just chugged healing potions until everyone else was killed. And yes, mind-breaking her was very satisfying.

Speaking of satisfying pre-battle talk.

This one I’m not gonna go through what it takes to get the option though.

The Farslayer was really easy for me because I just Misty Stepped and double Dashed to him, and then when he warped all the way down to the floor, I just immediately jumped down next to him because I was wearing that necklace that gives you increased jump/permanent Feather Fall/a raven morph.

Just noticed nearly all the gnomes you save in Grymforge are gay.

There's the gay couple with the needy girl and the exploding gnome. There's also a gay couple with the old gnome and the anxious one.

Missed the fags in most of my runs.

I heard Alfira can be gay with Lakrissa too.

All companions are player sexuals and a ton are queer.

Astarion is obviously bi with a male lean.

Karlach is into girl too (her sexual fantasy night when you play as her)

Shadow wants Karlach to lift her.

The rest seems straight as far as I can tell.

Gale is the gayest out of all of them. I asked him if I could borrow a pen and he went straight for my cock. I know they said they toned it down in a patch, but it was still like you were at all nice to him and he took that as a green light. I used it as a learning experience of what attractive women have to deal with.

Gale is PLAYERSEXUAL not gay.
