I was kinda surprised you didn’t get a bard as a companion character(besides that one on Dark Urge playthrough cause…you know), so I might actually do that.

Edit because I forgot: There was meant to be a bard companion in the form of a halfling (or gnome?) werewolf who was cut for, some guess, to make room for Halsin. Considering in-lore werewolves have affinity with Selune (Full moon and all that) there might have been some dynamism between her and Shadowheart, or maybe Astarion.

Just wanted to thank you for the heads-up on this. I plan on romancing Astarion but I'm not a big fan of bittersweet endings, so I did some googling just now to see why that's the case with the "good" option. Shame his vampirism can't be cured, and that you can only get turned yourself if you choose the "bad" path. Oh well.

It's implied that he still won't turn you, even in the bad path, since he only sees you as a possession now (You're not even allowed to break up with him anymore unless you kick him in the nuts during an accompanying sex scene. Whilst the 'good' path is bittersweet, it's not too bitter. I'd recommend watching/following it to the conclusion.

I think I’m not sleeping in camp enough. I keep having event stuff trigger rather than romance/sex scenes/getting the owlbear cub to show up. I’ll just spam sleep a few times after the party and see if I can’t trigger them.

Have you never played an RPG before? Or D&D?

The game is challenging on medium difficulty but it's mostly because I run into battle not prepared. I just reload and do a rest and fix my equipment and I usually win.

What would everyone recommend for the Bard subclass? I’m changing Astarion’s class and trying to decide which to go with. I’m leaning toward Collage of Swords because I like the idea of him being a duelist with a rapier. Would fit with him using a violin as his instrument.

Swords would be appropriate for his character just remember he's still a bard at the end of the day so if he goes into melee you should hit and run and not frontline it

If you're down for changing origin characters with withers then change shadowheart to a different domain. Life is a popular (and my) choice but war is also fun.

Maybe it's just the way I play the game, but I come across a lot of buggy/janky battle mechanics, especially in regards to not everyone in the party rolling initiative and joining the battle order during the first round, which can be incredibly frustrating when three PC turns are skipped and also unintentionally hilarious when I realize I can move my invisible imp familiar across the entire battle field with no regard to the ongoing turn based order/movement limits and just geek that last goblin archer on the opposite end of the map.

You aren't suppose to win. You are meant to lose cause the Netherbrain out smarted you. Even if you pass all the checks with crits the Netherbrain still wins

Best way I managed to stop her was going Karlach, Lae'zel, Gale and a warlock PC. I just maximized damage and turn count and did my best to out DPS her.

I misty stepped over to the cage in order to free the girl using the amulet, shoved one of her clones into the pit, then status effected the real one with poison so I always knew which one to focus on.

It was shitty though, she turned invisible and I had the fake eye and she was still invisible. Is it something I have to activate or just a bug?

I seem to be one of the only people that didn’t have trouble with Ethel, at least in Act 1 where I am. The worst part was getting down there, but I eventually got it by using feather fall and jumping around the flowers and fart gas.

The illusions go away in one hit so magic missile is the same reliable spell it always is; and I twigged to the fact that she doesn’t move after going invisible before she ran underground, so a fire arrow exposed her immediately. You can also throw water jugs or spells at the cage to put it out immediately.

The girl is also stupid as shit for actually thinking that wand would do anything good after I told her that the hag was going to eat her baby.

I was told to take the Mountain Pass first to advance certain characters’ stories, but I’ve also heard the fights can be very rough if you want gone through the Underdark yet.
