Baldur's Gate III Announced - ...and it's coming to Google Stadia and PC

I’ve been fully avoiding any tadpole powers and absorbing more tadpoles(though I do collect them). I’m essentially a Robin Hood/Zorro-style Thief with a Folk Hero background. I’ll pickpocket traders, loot anything I can, and bluff and persuade my way through any troubles I get, but I ain’t going along with any cults or weird creepy voices in my head, no sir.

Plus my Sleight of Hand/Charisma rolls curl have anything from a +6 to +11, so I’m pretty happy with my current character.

The tapdole powers are really fun, on my evil playthrough all of my companions have cull the weak and its like a fireworks show.
Oh for sure, when I replay as evil, I’m going to indulge like crazy. Mutate the hell out of my brain lol

I've gone for a weird party on my second playthrough. a 7/5 sentinel palalock, a 12 paladin polearm master, thief and a cleric. I thought about going monk but pact of the blade/oathbreaker palalock matches my playstyle really well. Thief with dual wield crossbows is something I've done on both playthroughs.

I had a sourcerer on a co-op playthrough but it fell apart. Really liked it but also melee characters don't need to long rest like ever, warlock lets me just short rest. Can't imagine playing paladin without being an oathbreaker though, skirting around the flags for the oath feels like talking to a Bethesda NPC sometimes.

frankly there are no downsides to indulging tadpole powers good or evil my barbarian certainly enjoys the extra utility
I’m admittedly only doing it for role play purposes. I tried an Iliad roll once just to see what it did, got the “you feel yourself lose that one small part of you, lost forever” and immediately restarted. I know there’s no narritive repercussions, it just bugged me hard on a storytelling level.

I also want to try playing as a Dark Urge character and trying as hard as possible to resist ever single violent urge possible. I hear there’s some exclusive bits near the end that you can get if you play as someone fighting every urge you have to be a violent serial killer. Seems neat.

Act 3 spoiler question:

When Orin kidnaps your companion, there's no timer right? Also, are there any know fail states where she automatically kills your companion?

I don't think so. She kidnapped the druid and I thought, "keep the faggot, i don't care" and did a ton of quests and rested a bunch and nothing bad happened.

You know, they give you a LOT of dialogue options to romance your companions once they like you enough, but truth be told, I’m way more enjoying some of the “stay friends” dialogue. Especially with Astarion, you kinda build a “ribbing each other” kinda friendship that I dig. Poking fun at him when he starts getting too full of himself or making him enjoy the more “heroic” aspects by saying “at least you got to kill something”.

She's was supposed to kill whoever she kidnaps after X amounts of long rests (3 I think) but it's either bugged or they realized people didn't want a time limit.

Just for drunk thoughts, a DnD adventurer drawing their power from a soulbond with a real life nerd like some Barbie shit would be some nightmare fuel.

Though... I mean, since our lives are at the hands of real life politicians, perhaps not so much more different, lol. Biden can't even fudge the dice for you to roll +10 on your job application.

I also don't like the Darkness spell and the Shar temple act 3 fight is a fucking drag.

Took out Auntie Ethel along with the other two goblin leaders. My strat for Ethel was throwing water on the cage, Misty Stepping over to the control orb, using Magic Missile on the clones, and poisoning Ethel so I could leave a status effect on her to tell her apart from the real Mayrina. To get around the annoying as fuck noxious fumes, I used a Feather Fall scroll after throwing a junk item on the first vent.

Minthara went down a lot easier than I anticipated. Ragzlin and his horde took me a couple tries but I succeeded on the second by destroying the war drum before initiating the fight, saved me a lot of trouble. Then I just picked them off from the rafters.

I have a question about the owlbear cub btw. At first I assumed I could convince him to come to my camp after killing all the leaders, but then I realized the whole rest of the goblin camp gets aggro'd if you try going back there, and have heard about the cub getting aggro'd as well. When I took a long rest he randomly showed up but got scared away by Astarion (way to go, you hungry jackass). Will he keep come back at random during long rests? I've heard that he does and will eventually stay and become friends with Scratch, but can't find a solid confirmation.

You are supposed to interact with the goblin and the owlbear before attacking the leaders, but if the camp event happened I guess it worked out. It will return after a second time and you need to give it food.

The one running the chicken race? I already did, I talk to the cub directly since I have Speak with Animals though. He asked for food and then got scared and ran away.

Playing on ps5. Great experience up until act 3. Frames take a massive shit, a few crashes (None in the past 2 acts) and quests seem to be missing triggers. dos 2 had the same issues final act was rushed.

There are a few hard crashes in act 3 you really would have thought they'd have caught before it went out yeah. Did nobody really try attacking a steel watcher during it's self destruct protocol to see what happens if you reduce hp to 0 while it's channeling? I've got all these free ranged attack bonus actions to shoot for fun so ofc I'm going to do it.

They did the same shit with DOS 2 game was early access for a long time most of the Q and A went into the first act. First act was great but further you get into the game more buggy it got. It really sours the experience. You can tell their was a bunch of cut content as well it's just really jarring.

Question: after the Goblin/Tiefling party when you’re about to go to sleep, it gives you the options of “spend the night thinking of…” for characters you’re romancing at the time. Does picking one in particular lock you into a romance with them alone, or is it just boosting affection for that particular character or whatever.

EDIT: why did it not occur to me that characters would have a preference for being dominant or submissive for sex stuff…that seems like an obvious thing, but it didn’t actually occur to me.

Okay, who Doms and who Subs, companion-wise? That might actually make me narrow down who I want to romance.
