I think the problem I'm having in Act 3 is they have a bunch of quests rather than focusing on just the push towards the end. There seems to be significantly more content than either of the previous acts. Maybe they'll all come together but some of them just seem random.

Although I would like to gain a couple more levels, so maybe I shouldn't complain.

So it was WoTC insisting on giving the drow gilf the whacking?
Basically yes.
also I'm comically desperate to play again so why the fuck not
We'll have to figure out a date and time that works for everyone.
Gave it a pirate after DLing it all day and oof- not my cup of tea. Obnoxiously difficult even on easy, clearly 'best' classes and if you are dumb and make a 2H warrior you're wasting your time.

Thanks for the input but gunna give this a hard pass, not my kind of autism.
That's fair, I guess, but I had to turn the game up to tactician (hard) because the game became a little too easy for me.

Also unless you are playing one of the early access builds, I've got no idea what you are talking about by "best classes" and 2h fighters being useless, because I've dominated with my battlemaster fighter since I started.

Yeah she hurts me with it sometimes but it's worth it lmao.
The problem is the bast also hurts those 6hp civilians too. Have you tried throwing the shoe a cat wants fish for?

If you are playing normal, then a 2H is more than fine.
3 attacks per action and ridiculous jumping distance to get there.
There's lots of great equipment too. My only gripe is intimidation is boosted by charisma and not strength.
You only really need to optimise on tactician
Thats kind of disappointing, mindflayers being such a high level with their ability to stun and eat your character that dumped Wis was terrifying.
They are that terrifying, remember even a lvl 1 adventure is heads above average.
Is anyone else having a hard time with the scenery? It's very beautiful when it works but I'm finding that the camera spazzes out a lot, especially during combat.
Some people enjoy using a camera mod, or even to play it third person action style.

You know, I saw a review where someone had a mild complaint that, as they were trying to play a character who explicitly avoided fighting as much as possible, talking/lying through stuff, and hiding behind their teammates during fights, was upset that they would be forced to fight/kill three goblin leaders with no real way around it…right after I had just seen a video where someone did just that by sniping from the rafters and shoving one into the spider pit.

It’s just fun how many ways around you can solve particular problems.

Obnoxiously difficult even on easy
Is this your first CRPG? I can't think of any other way you could be having trouble - this is one of the easiest, most forgiving CRPGS (for that matter RPGS) to come out in the last decade. Tactician Mode is pretty easy outside of a very small handful of 4v30 encounters which are wholly avoidable.

The game shits health potions at you. You can drink them, move, and attack all in the same turn. Welcome to like 50% of the game's tactical depth.
Although I would like to gain a couple more levels, so maybe I shouldn't complain.
Unless you skipped huge chunks of earlier content, you'll hit 12 like maybe a fifth of the way through Act III. I intentionally skipped several quests I knew existed but didn't feel like looking up and still was 12 for a huge chunk of my time in that act.
I must be the only person to play a ranger and holy fuck I am tired of everyone losing their shit when I come around with my animal companion.
I believe there's a mod that makes that not happen for summons of any sort. I played through as a necromancer and I understood it happening for undead companions - but apparently it's a ton of shit. But it never causes the guards to attack and it doesn't damage their attitude, so it's just fucking annoying and tedious and feels like a system (much like the prison system) that was just grafted from D:OS onto this game.

So is the game actually any good or do you just fuck bears?

Generally, if you don't mind dice rolls and turn based combat. Definately better than the AAA slop we usually get.

If you are unsure, just pirate it and buy it if you really like how it plays. And if you do play, remember you can kill npcs. Yes, even the diversity ones.

Just fuck bears. In fact, you start out being fucked by then, and the goal of the game is to be the fucker rather than the fuckee.

Out of curiosity, I managed to pickpocket like 500 gold off the merchant in the Druid grove. I got away, obviously, but am I fucking myself over later by just stealing all his shit?

Well, technically, I stole his gold, used it to buy the items, and then stole the gold back.

EDIT: oh hell….what’s the time limit on the Druid ritual? I’ve already rested seven days. Do I need to avoid taking a long rest again until I either investigate the Druid lady or free their true leader? I didn’t realize it was fully time sensitive and wanted to go recuit karlatch/scratch/set up the bugbear cub thing.

There is no time limit on that

>he plays classes that feature pets
i guess if you like tedium and breaking the game with what is effectively an extra party member
Nigger what? Half the point of DnD is to break it. And even then its a class famous for that feature. Hell my whole party can summon minions.

My beef is that they should've anticipated an obvious feature breaking shit and didn't fix it.

your gm must love you
And asking for bugfixes for basic shit these days is asking for too much.
