Of the many things Dragon Age did right, there was a heart symbol on any dialog that led to romance.

Also, was I the only one who woke up to Astarion trying to suck my blood and didn't kill him right then, but as soon as I met the hunter I told him where my camp was, drew him a map and then drew him a picture of Astarion's tent so he got the right one?

Welp I'm glad I didn't spend a dime on this so called game because it's the first time I've had game fuck up so bad I had to do a full scrub and reinstall of my video card drivers, nothing but the best from the game that lets you choose from five different penises for character.

The weird D&D stuff was cool when it was weird - Drow weren't everywhere, Tieflings like someone else said - place them very rarely in with the high magic fantasy stuff and it still works.

Githyanki vs. Mind Flayer is the Norm joke about how everybody in this story should die in a fire. I feel worse for the Evil race that was enslaved, but then they would just kill me if they saw me, so just slightly worse than the race of Evil slavers. Any Forgotten Realms thing that doesn't lean hard into the Red Wizards of Thay as the big bad is wasting great material.

I don't think I've seen anyone bring up Temple of Elemental Evil when talking about similar turn-based AD&D games, that was a fun 3e combat simulator that had what sounds like BG3 has, an obviously rushed ending with empty endgame areas vs. densely populated early areas. Gold Box was the best combat system but it got silly in the later games when you're such a high level that every fight is just a gunslinger duel where whoever wins initiative gets spells off first and wins immediately.

You can tell Larian devs played NW2 and not BG2 btw.
 
man, those tin-tan hit like a truck and can take a beaten. had to bait them to a bridge so i could blast them off, killing them instantly. any idea where i can buy revive scrolls in baldurs gate?

This is a constant source of bitching from players, and I don't see why they don't institute a pretty simple solution: give the NPCs gaydar. Let you pick your character's sexual orientation during character creation (you can customize your dick ffs), and then if you aren't interested in a given sex then those people will never hit on you. You get more 'inclusion' and you don't end up with straight players gay panic murdering your vampire twink.

I'm afraid I'm going to have to disagree with you.
The Gith are by far my favourite part of the story. They show how boundless hatred leads to becoming almost as bad as what they hate. Their civilisation is an interesting exploration of the dark side of living somewhere outside of time. No crops can grow, so they raid, no babies can age, so they seek out secret places in regular reality to grow up. The Githyanki focus on war, because they learnt from the mistakes of the Githzerai's moderation and compassion giving the Ithilid a window to escape and metastasise.

They are original and coherent, far better than generic Dwarves found identically in all fantasy settings. You are right in saying Tieflings/Drow used to be more interesting when they weren't ubititiously everywhere and tolerated/welcomed. Drizzt was more special when he was remarkable, saving societies that would kill him on sight, not just one of zillions of colour pallet shifted knifeeared heroes.

Give nigger said magic items.

What I'm saying is that if you make your NPCs player-sexual, you need to make it a little bit more difficult to romance a character, otherwise they will try to suck your dick for just saying "Hi". It's so easy to bone them, that even Gator could possibly, probably do it. Doubt it, though.

Someone has made a mod called "Better Aesthetics" to add beards to the dwarfs but it seems to also denegrofy NPC's which isn't mentioned on the page itself and the best part is the he knows, the people in the post section know but he's denying it all and deleting comments that point it out.

I've downloaded it despite not owning the game. Was gonna upload to anonfiles and post link due to it being 60mb to not hurt servers but anonfiles is kill.
