Don't stick it in crazy. I love yanderes but that girl spooks even me.

I am not fully against playersexual characters but there should be an option to just go "yeah 20 gold is 20 gold but I am not ghey".

That way all players can have their fun.

Well I just completed the Goblin Camp quest and my White Cishet Male Paladin is going steady with Shadowheart. I'm so happy to vote with my first playthrough and add to the obvious that the people playing BG3 are men but most of all we only want to fuck the Goth Elf. I really do hope they reveal player choices because I'm confident 90% of playthroughs will be the player being romantic with Shadowheart. I forgot to chat with all the party members but it was only cringey when Gale went into a gay fit that I'm not going to rub his wizard staff. I'm confident NOBODY wants to be romantic with that doofus.

While many here seem to loathe Laezel she actually has some of the funniest dialog lines. And I chuckled when she declared she was going to have hot sex with Astarion. As for Karlach I think she's the most poorly written origin character, her personality & dialog feel more in line with some Cartoon Network character.

But I digress from corny YA romance, I really do enjoy the combat. My character has gotten to the point that he has spells that can do some major damage. And yet I was being stupid and allowed a lowly mage to blast him from the top of a roof where he then fell to his death. It's just a really entertaining system. It's definitely not perfect and I hope Larian can further refine it but it's just very entertaining to play. I can't believe I've played this game for 20 hours this week, although I think I may have let the launcher sit in the background for a while.

I am in 3 act. Can say that first impressions from early access and dev interviews were a mistake. You absolutely can make froggy adore you and not cuckold you. That's up to you. And there's another vestige from previous games by Larian. Dialogues in overworld on a fucking loop. It's not as annoying as that bloody dwarf woman from Driftwood, but still, can irritate you if you that sort of type. Right now I am having a blast as a warlock. Eldritch blast. Level 11, no multiclass bollocks

Yeah, Lazael isn't a good person but she got an interesting story arc. Propably the closest linked with the player's story. She isn't pleasant but she got character, which is more than most modern stuff can claim. I wonder what shenanigans she would get up to a with a character of her own species.

But considering Goth elf is the only conventionally attractive girl I'm betting she will get more romance hits than the rest combined, with Astarion getting second place prize thanks to fujos and twilight fans.

Yeah Karlach just seems like your typical modern age biker chick.

I know Camilla isn't a yandere, she is just Ted Bundichu with tits.

To paraphrase Frog Girl she's like "I wish you hadn't picked Shadowheart I wanted you to spunk in my cloaca. I'm sure that Hot Topic basic bitch will talk endlessly with you. Whatever I'm going to fuck Astarion tonight." As for Astarion he just says "Ugh I hate that we saved those villagers I don't want to be a hero I just want to have sex... but not with you lmao." Which felt in character because if any single character should be bisexual but not be an emotional fag over it it's the vampire guy.

Edit: Being so obsessed with this game for the past week made me think about what it does right and what the OTHER Baldur's Gate successor Pillars of Eternity did so horribly wrong. And that Pillars fucked up is fascinating because Obsidian should have by all means known what they were doing they had the talent and man I still love the overworld HD 2D backdrops of Pillars.

What Larian was smart with is that they don't try to make you do hours of boring ass reading about LORE. I only know a surface deep knowledge of Baldur's Gate and the game doesn't fault you for that. If you want to learn about all the Forgetten Realms stuff you can but alternative you can just fuck around. From my understanding Larian has done a good job putting in lore of DnD in the background of the game and knowing that stuff will only make you appreciate the content more but really the plot is you got Cthulhu Parasites in your brain and some asses to kick. Despite being a very nerdy game it doesn't make you feel like a nerd to play it.

Not a lot of choices for us straight men, to be honest. You can fuck either:
  • The normal looking, goth Elf.
  • The demonic looking, red Elf.
  • The literally evil, blue Elf (that requires you to side with the baddies).
  • The annoying cunt, ugly-ass green Frog.
Obviously, most people will end up with the least weird girl.

I just have to say that I hate this game's inventory system.

I understand the 'immersion' aspect of having character specific inventories but it falls apart since you control and pick up items with your OC 99% of the time, with all the other characters not holding a damn thing.

It's driving me up a wall. Should have just had shared inventories/weights rather than force me to play a re-shuffling game every couple hours when my OC is burdened. There's a reason most DMs hate handling inventory management too, no excuse for the vidya to remind us why.

It really is terrible. It wouldn't be as bad if I could at least access everyone's inventory at once while in camp.

Switching party members is also so annoying. Everyone but the 3 I've been using are all still level 1-3 because I can't be bothered switching them in and out to even level/equip them.

Well, the evil blue elf will take the edgelord demographic. Razorfist will love her rong time.

Well, the thiefling is not elf but basically demon chick, especially with the anime take on demons being horned tailed humans, and not the 40k metaphysical stuff.

Was worried gothie would be Camilla 2.0, considering her deity isn't selectable when even Loth, the evil dark elf one is.

And my ocd makes me want to keep them all geared.

you can turn her to the light side
And with Lae'zel all backwards. First she will drag your character for sex. But as it goes forward, she opens up and... I will not spoil you that. Aside from already told. She can adore your character, if you be persistent

does anyone wonder whose bright idea it was to have some overdramatic bitch narrate every five minutes?
seriously, it's so offputting
She becomes almost nonexistent in the later half of the game. Seems to be a remnant of early design choices. Glad to see a studio actually act on input from early access for once.

The tedious combat pads out a lot of the game time but all npcs are voiced and seem to have unique voices so it’s forgivable.
Not many games do that anymore.

Have you tried learning ctrl+shift shortcuts? You can select multiple items and double click on them to sell to vendors. It never tells you that and I figured it out some time in act 2.

My gripe with it is that there seems to be some kind of array overflow so items you’ve sent to camp will randomly appear back in your inventory sometimes.

The limitation on prepared spells is really annoying and retarded.
Out of combat you can use whatever spells whenever you want, since preparation is free and can be done anywhere.
There is literally no reason to keep more exploration-focused spells prepared, because you can prepare them, use and them, and go back to a more combat oriented spell.

A better implementation would be to have the "non-prepared" spells be part of the hotbar, but unavailable during combat.
Maybe I'm mistaken, but why would I want "Detect Thoughts" during combat?
And spells like "Dark Vision", "Daylight", "Feather-Fall" are all so situational, you wouldn't want to keep them prepared in case of a surprise combat, but they are much better during exploration.

I'm like 30 hours in and the game has knocked all my expectations out of the park. I had my concerns when they started talking about retarded shit like the genital selector and vitiligo but now I think they just tossed it in so they could work on a good game in peace. My diviner playthough has been really satisfying.

Detect thoughts lets you walk through certain dungeons because you just know the exact thing you need to say. Speak with dead is as involved as it was in arcanum and NPCs will react to you doing it. Using enhanced jump is a ritual that mogs jumping puzzles. The whole experience isn't just a set of powers. Not to mention I have wizard only dialog options and quests. Really feel like my guy isn't just a set of options, he feels like a god damn wizard.
