Bitchiness may go down with the story or with your rep with each individual character. Maybe if you don't save Shadowheart she becomes bitchier.

I made a girl drow, but Razor didn't seem to have much problems with recreating Elric or whoever Drizzt is made from. But I think the devs intentionally made elves and drows look better than humans and half elves. I wanted to make a half elf but the faces were much worse. So I embraced my inner edgelord, FUCKYOUIWASRIGHT! -spins in chair like a tard- You'll need to muck about with the character editor like a fat girl works her filters though!

I think a hair style similar to Roon's and the fact that the drow skintone hides all the birthmarks they put on every face (fuck why is this a trend so much? Most characters nowdays have unseemly black splotches more on a limb than I have on my body) may help.

For anyone wondering what to do with your bonus action as a caster, there's a mod that turns true strike into a bonus action now. Just in case you don't have a summon up or something.

Or you're an ele monk stuck at full range.

Dammit, the tricky bastards added a second switch in the “windmill”. Read the names of them lest thou lawn darteth a gnome. I felt kind of bad about that mistake.

I am still very early on only having just beaten the flying meat ship but my biggest gripe so far is really just that hte character creator is atrocious.
The first time I booted the game I ended up just quitting without finishing character creation after spending over an hour just trying to understand if I was missing options somewhere or if it was even possible to make a character that wasn't ugly as sin.
I couldn't bring myself to say "yeah I'll be fine with looking at this for the rest of my playthrough" with any of the limited options provided.
The game really feels like DoS2 with a layer of 5e on top which I'm ok with I think. I'd rather play something that feels like DoS2 over something that feels exactly like 5e.
Yeah, the character creator is utter ass. Which to me is funny given that Larian was hyping up their character creator as the most advance and customizable character creator in video games only for it to be pretty bare bones. The character creator in the Neverwinter MMO is more advanced, has more customization options, has more options for races, faces and body types and that was an MMO made on a budget and is over ten years old. Guess genital customization and mo-cap bullshit was more important than giving players the chance to customize their characters. Would not be surprised to see a character creator expansion mod for Baldur's Gate 3 somewhere in the future on Nexus Mods.
So, I played for a while. Reached level 5. Funnily enough, toad also had her bitchiness curbed down a notch.
I was unable to recruit her due to the fact that if I did I would break my Oath as a paladin and I am trying hard to not get Oathbreaker. My first run is my good girl pally run.

Yeah it isn't that great. The lack of skin complexion and faceshapes gets really in the way.
SWTOR at least has a lot of skin complexion options and head presets. STO did even better, you could slider everything, and that shit is old. And made many a fun abomintion.

Here is miss Hot Topic. I think I did Dementia Raven way proud, but otherwise she is not ugly. Its 3d so 2d waifus of course knock her out of the water, but considering the human preset I did an admirable job. To quote Poe, or Nightshade, how many blood demon shits on the head is she out of hot topics?

pretty crazy people already finished act 1. i guess that most have played EA over and over for three years and know were everything is. im about done clearing all the goblins in the village.

The state of the character creator is really weird to me given the amount of ESG speak and who the audience they are going after seems to be.
A fully featured character creator literally just makes everyone happy at the end of the day, but getting a half assed one with genital options and a pronoun selector just makes those things more irritating.
Part of me wonders if they were banking on modders fixing things like the character creator just so they wouldn't have to do the work.

So I've never played any of the Baulder's Gate stuff, I got a friend who likes to play stuff together but..I am at a higher skill level in most things so we have little to really play together together.

How is the Co-Op in this game? is it practical to play with another person?

Wyll: This one shocked me. I actually really like Wyll's character. Hear me out on this. For years, I have been inundated with bullshit characters in books, comics, movies and video games where the main characters are self assholes who surround themselves with other selfish enabling assholes, are mass murdering assholes (but always portrayed as being in the right), or are assassins who find themselves being the reluctant hero and are all a different shade of grey. The fact that I came across a character that said; "I took up a blade to do good in the world. To protect people so they don't go to bed at night afraid.", and is genuinely a pleasant person took me by surprise so much that I nearly spat my Pepsi onto the computer screen. Dear writers, please stop writing unlikable, morally grey Game of Thrones knock off characters or characters like Frey in Foreskin and give us characters that are pleasant and heroic. Larian did it and with the token black character no less.
I have to hard disagree here. Yeah, he tries to be good but he's to blame for his situation. Compare to Lohse in their last game, turns out her body is just a really nice place to live for demons, she also tries to do good and spread cheer while being a victim. Fucking Wyll made a literal pact with a devil and is now bitching that it didn't turn out well for him. That's too damn bad, maybe think next time, it's not exactly my problem.

Character creator has been beaten to death here and I agree, it sucks ass.

I did start out liking the verticality and practical uses for pits in combat but lots of the time my companions would just get stuck on ledges with jumps that they can totally make when I take direct control, they're just not pathing right which gets annoying. As for combat, yeah, Spartan kicking idiots down holes starts our hilarious but once you realize that solutions to fights that you can't win or are having a remotely hard time with is to just have someone with high strength sprint up and boot a fucker down a hole it loses a lot of the appeal. Yeah, you don't have to do it but the enemy will also do it to you as a cheap shot.

Getting from there to combat/itemization your gear isn't very interesting or nice looking. I get that that's just D&D and I actually like that helmets/gloves/boots now generally have at least a bonus to saves on 'em even at mundane qualities but I do find clicky item buffs annoying, especially when tied to rests like everything, even weapon abilities. Again, their previous game just had shit on cooldowns and/or with source cost at higher impacts, which isn't D&D but it's much nicer and more convenient. Yeah, a lot of my problems with this game are kind of the 5e ruleset and Forgotten Realms setting.

The final thing which is a big one for me is that once I got to Grymforge and climbed the rafter the game started just crashing for me, no matter if I go elsewhere or stay there so I'm just assuming that fucked my save and in any case is locking me out of actually continuing.

Apparently you can also recruit the Drow without pissing off two other companions if you just never do the siege and just leave the area. So good job there?

Oh yeah, inventory management is terrible, they gave you those backpacks but no way to just auto sort and stack things into them. Or maybe it is doing that just not very well since there's tons left over that should just get sucked in.

How is this avoiding an AO rating? Is it because porn is core to gay culture, and all things gay are good, so sex and full frontal nudity are now 100% ok in games?
It's a good question, some of the sex scenes get pretty damn explict. Full genitalia visible during foreplay, detailed implied thrusting, and showing mutal climax between the involved parties. (The only thing missing is showing the actual penetration. Penis/vulva can be seen hard/wet in some scenes, but no shots of things actually in there, etc.)

My speculation is that it didn't get an AO rating for 2 reasons:
1. The standard woke crowd went nuts when the devs said that all companions would be effectively bisexual and romanceable by any player character. The ESRB may have decided to cut their losses and go with a standard M rating to not trigger Twitter/tumblir.

2. The actual sex scenes are a fairly small part of the game and only happen if you do a decently involved quest line to trigger one as an event.

However, precedent does exist for the ESRB to rerate a game. Oblivion got changed to an M rating after all the gore was found in the hellgate sequences. It's possible we could see hot coffee drama unfold if something goes viral.
