And adding them into the party is a giant pain in the ass.
Really all the companion management is shit.
I would've expected at a certain point in making RPGs devs would just allow us to use everyone in our party instead of this retarded party limit shit.
But then people will finally realize how shitty turn-based crap is.

I miss Pillars of Eternity and Dragon's Age man :(

i really hope they add some sort of Dragon Age quick party selection screen, changing your party should take a few seconds tops, none of this loading into camp and talking to people bullshit, inventory management for your companions is similarly cursed for this reason.

why eeven have a "next/previous member" button when we cant even use it when managing inventories

+Combat is good. I had forgotten how much I missed turn based combat.
I like that they put some thought into the combat encounters instead of having random enemies appear from time to time.

+I'm happy I can tell companions who annoy me to fuck off or kill them which is what I did with elf twink.
Or you can be nice to him for a little while until you run into the bounty hunter who knocks him out in one punch and removes him from your party. I like that they gave us some options for twink removal.

So from what I've observed this game is essentially the right winger's Hogwarts Legacy. The leftists were pissed that their Hogwarts Legacy boycott failed and now the rightists are mad because their attempts to smear this game as woke trash has completely backfired hard just like how the leftist's Hogwarts Legacy smear failed hard. I don't take any real stance on either side of Baldur's Gate 3, it's just something I'm watching in real time and I don't know what to make of it to be well honest.
I haven't seen one article trying to smear this as woke, nor have I seen any game websites saying they won't review it for that reason. So no, it's not anything like that.

I understand now why the Dark Urge isn't recommended for new playthroughs.

I was googling if a certain npc was recruitable but let's just say her story doesn't have a happy ending.

I've played enough to have some impression on the companions.
Frog Cunt: LEL, dead. Since I'm playing a tiefling paladin I allowed the two tieflings near the grove to waste her ass. Thank God too as she was such a bitch in the beginning and I knew she was going to give my lawful good pally a hard time.
Elf Twink: Annoys the fuck out of me but I let him live for the time being. With the info I learned from @Caesare I am going to hand his ass over to the bounty hunter first chance I get.
Shadowheart. Surprisingly, Shadowheart has kind of grown on me. She is kind of a bitch but not insufferably so. She is grateful for you saving her but is guarded about herself which I get. I understand that her companion quest is you gaining her trust and her eventually confiding in you which I like. Reminds me of Boone and Arcade's companion quests in New Vegas.
Gale: Gale is a bit charming. Although I find myself tiring at times of his antics and wish he will just get to the point.
Wyll: This one shocked me. I actually really like Wyll's character. Hear me out on this. For years, I have been inundated with bullshit characters in books, comics, movies and video games where the main characters are selfish assholes who surround themselves with other selfish enabling assholes, are mass murdering assholes (but always portrayed as being in the right), or are assassins who find themselves being the reluctant hero and are all a different shade of grey. The fact that I came across a character that said; "I took up a blade to do good in the world. To protect people so they don't go to bed at night afraid.", and is genuinely a pleasant person took me by surprise so much that I nearly spat my Pepsi onto the computer screen. Dear writers, please stop writing unlikable, morally grey Game of Thrones knock off characters or characters like Frey in Foreskin and give us characters that are pleasant and heroic. Larian did it and with the token black character no less.

Will speak more about the game the more I play. I'm at the Grove so I'll talk about that once I get done with the quests there.

Última edición:
I am still very early on only having just beaten the flying meat ship but my biggest gripe so far is really just that hte character creator is atrocious.
The first time I booted the game I ended up just quitting without finishing character creation after spending over an hour just trying to understand if I was missing options somewhere or if it was even possible to make a character that wasn't ugly as sin.
I couldn't bring myself to say "yeah I'll be fine with looking at this for the rest of my playthrough" with any of the limited options provided.
The game really feels like DoS2 with a layer of 5e on top which I'm ok with I think. I'd rather play something that feels like DoS2 over something that feels exactly like 5e.

I managed to make a passable drow. But you may just be better off trying to make a man. Elves generally look better.

V shit on the game for this and called for boycottescu, but Razorfist seems to like it. I thought he would go drow and I was not dissapointed.

Also from our pet Edgelord, apparently Shadowheart was toned down in the bitchiness due to fan outrage.

How many times is the urge taken out of your control? Ive heard mixed info on what you can and cant do to tape it down.

I agree once I released how crappy the main character was going to look I just gave up and decided to make something funny so at least I could laugh at it instead of being disappointed.

I gave up on making my drow look like a drow and instead just made a regular high elf with black tattoos all over his face who calls himself a drow even though he doesn't look like one. It's kind of funny looks like a elf in blackface pretending to be a drow.

Still in Act One, infiltrating the goblin camp now.
Also it's funny, stop questioning things and fuck the bear, you know you want to
I created a gnome character and I look forward to seeing Halsin and what the size difference is going to look like.
I kind of wish for a pause at least out of combat. Buffs are real time.
Shift-space will put you in turn-based mode, which is really useful (particularly in that dank crypt near where you crash).
