Also, another reason why people are angry at the bear fucking scene. For those that don't know, WotC recently took away half-races from their games. They told people that half-races as a concept is racist and that anybody who plays a character such as a human who is attracted to elves is someone who is racist and is engaging in colonialism. So while WotC thinks it's racist and evil for you to have that hot elf waifu and make half-elf babies with her they do however endorse bestiality and polyamory. The absolute state and hypocrisy of this company. Yes, I know that there are half-races in Baldur's Gate 3 but the only reason they are still in there is because development was too far along when WotC pulled this shit so Larian didn't bother to shelve the half-races since they knew that would piss off a lot of gamers.

Aren't half races part of the core Sci-Fi and fantasy cannon? Star Trek has half races, for fantasy I don't really know how far back it goes in the really foundational works. but Greek and Roman myths sort of do, right? Sure, it makes relatively little real life sense depending on the situation, but it's like if you got rid of all upgrades in a game because some of them could not be done in real life with the tools available.

You have to understand that WotC is based out of Seattle, Washington. Critical Race Theory is big here and many organizations are true believers of it. They believe half-races in general are racist because when it comes to race either you are the "oppressor race" or the "victim race". Half breeds are the ultimate proof that Critical Race Theory is bullshit. To circumvent this problem they begun to say that half breeds who choose to identify as two races are racist and that those who are mix race must choose to identify as either one race or the other. Either you are the "oppressor" or the "victim". Sadly these beliefs have wormed their way into fiction.

According to insider sources from WotC (i.e the sane employees who keep their heads down and mouths shut for fear of reprisal and cancelling from their woke brain rotted co-workers), WotC writers and employees have begun to apply CRT into their works. According to sources, humans are suppose to be stand ins for whites while the other races are stand ins for blacks, Latinos, Arabs, Asians, Jews and LGBTQ+ people. Since CRT teaches that white people are inherently and irredeemably evil so to are humans in D&D and its forbidden to interbreed with them as they don't want white/human genetics to "colonialize" the other races gene pool. Imagine being so brain rotted on woke ideology that you see some nerds fantasy of wooing the cute elf chick and having a family of half-breed children with her as "white supremacy" and "colonialism". Yes, this is fucking retarded and so stupid that I have a hard time wrapping my head around it but this is what many in WotC believe.

According to sources, WotC are. They are getting rid of anything that would make the races different from each other. A Halfling is now just as strong as an Orc. It is so stupid and takes away from the immersion.

On a side note, despite our disagreements, @Mega Black is right when he says that the bear sex scene actually proved to be brilliant marketing. I remember many nu-D&D fans talking about how they were going to boycott both this game and other D&D products due to the OGL and the fiasco where WotC sent the Pinkertons to some poor blokes house for getting MTG cards early. Now, after showing the gay bear sex scene, many of these same people are crawling back to D&D and pre-ordering this game in mass. Guess when you indulge in the degenerate fetishes of the people you want to be your new fans after you piss them off they will come crawling back. It is like clockwork.

A bit of a two-edged sword, as it turned out. It sure got them a lot of media attention, but there's a catch.

I'm the computer games nerd in our clique, so friends come to me for recommendations. This marketing stunt sure made BG3 a difficult sell, because even just bringing it up in a conversation immediately results in a suspicious look and "why do you want me to buy a game where people get fucked by bears, are you one of THOSE people?"

The last time I checked, the romance options in the 40k game were extremely limited because the techpriest loves toasters, the battle nun loves the Emperor and the Space Wolf loves wolves is out of your league is a spess mehreen who do not do this kind of bullshit, which only leaves the interrogator if you are female and the navigator girl if you are male. There is also an Eldar girl for those who want to bang the xeno scum but I doubt this romance will go anywhere because she is most definitely not into bestiality and you are a mon-keigh.

I feel like most of THE MESSAGE in Wrath of the Righteous was imposed on Owlcat from above in Paizo, because there is literally no transgender bullshit once you get past the prologue. I feel ya bro. I feel ya. Fuck, the romance with the succubus companion in Wrath of the Righteous was actually kind of wholesome. With me I'm craving for good characters to be wholesome and evil characters to be evil for the sake of being evil. I would like good align characters to embody the types of characteristics you would see in the 3e supplement Book of Exalted Deeds and have evil align characters have characteristics like you would see in the Book of Vile Darkness supplement. Instead you just get morally grey bullshit, evil people are just misunderstood (unless they are a white human male) and everyone being a sex weirdo. It's amazing to me seeing the decline of D&D under the hands of WotC.

What I don't understand is the Baldur's Gate name attached to this game. Oh I understand that it's a marketing ploy to lure in people who liked the original games. It worked on me, I bought the early access version when it came out in 2020.

The Bhaalspawn saga is done and it has nothing to do with the Black Hound version of BG 3 that was canceled. The name Baldur's Gate evokes a specific tone, not as serious and pure fantasy as Lord of the Rings but by no means vampires fucking druids in bear form. The Baldur's Gate games had a lot of humor in them and even some references that some people nowadays would call "reddit" because you can't reference anything anymore. But the tone feels nothing like the old games, it just doesn't feel like a Baldur's Gate title. Name it Dungeons and Dragons followed by subtitle and don't try to connect this game to the classics.
