I'm pretty easy to please. A plain bagel, toasted with cream cheese spread on it, satisfies me. The last time I tried pimento cheese, from a breakfast place, I vomited shortly afterwards. I have no clue exactly what caused it, but I'm wary of bagels from a restaurant now.

I know chains are supposed to be bad, but Einsteins Bagels is my gold standard. For years I would go there every Friday and get one cranberry, one Asiago, and one chocolate chip. As-is. Potato was a good substitute if they were out of any of the others. I was so consistent that I couldn't have gotten anything else if I'd wanted because they would start bagging them as soon as I walked in the door. They got too fucking expensive though. Last time I went (probably 5 years ago) I ended up walking out because a piece of bread isn't worth $1.50+.

TLDR: Bagels are awesome.

I'm a fan of dessert bagels. Cream cheese, cinnamon, honey; things like that. I think the 'wackiest' bagel I've tried was with lox. I saw it and had to see what the hype was.

Buttered and toasted, and then smeared with some sort of jam mixed with cream cheese. Raspberry is good, recently tried marmalade since I was too lazy to make orange rolls and that was decent.

I know a schizophrenic guy that used to make bagel gifs and spam them in random FFXIV discord servers to speed run getting banned and piss off the community.

At one point he had a bunch of shit post videos about bagels uploaded on Youtube on a channel that was called BagelNet.

What I usually have is a plain bagel, toasted, generous amount of cream cheese, and a couple pinches of salt.

I really like cheese bagels though. My store just never has them.

Cinnamon or blueberry bagels are okay but as I get older I crave salt and fat more than sweet.

A toasted bagel is pretty nice, especially when you make it a sandwich with some roasted chicken, romaine lettuce, salt, and pepper on it.

Cinnamon raisin, blueberry, and onion bagels are pretty good.

Tuna salad with egg and green onion on a generic toasted everything bagel with a slice of colby is one of my favorite lunches. The only thing to make it better is adding a slice of fresh tomato from the garden.
