Finally got a chance to see the movie tonight. I have some thoughts in random order. (NOT SPOILER - I liked it a lot.)

-I don't remember a time any times recently that I popped as hard as I popped for Cap wielding Thor's hammer. So good.
-Captain Marvel was barely a part of this movie, and that was the correct move. (Having not seen her solo film, and I won't- just gonna say, she shouldn't even be a part of the MCU at all. Even with her limited screen time, she was portrayed here as being so ridiculously OP, that I can't even imagine how the rest of the MCU drama even continues now. With how she's been portrayed, pretty much every Marvel movie so far (Including Infinity War) would have ended in minutes, if not seconds if she had just been there, and I can't stop myself from thinking that in any future movies.
-I think a lot of people didn't like (fat)Thor's portrayal in this, I kind of loved every bit of it... To the point where even though I was pissed off that Disney rehired the pedo who directed GOTG 1 and 2, I will still probably go see Asguardians of the Galaxy, even if he's directing it.
-I've hated Ruffalo as Banner/Hulk pretty much ever since he took over the role, I didn't buy him as a super smart scientist, I bought him as a doofus. (He was just "ok" to me in Thor 3) yet I loved him as Professor Hulk, I don't even know why.
-Tony's ending was perfect...
-I liked Cap's ending, except... Up until now, Falcon has barely been a character. I just don't see him as Captain America in the MCU (I know he was Captain America in the comics, which worked there as he was actually a character there.) I don't think the dude they picked is interesting enough to headline a movie. Guess I'm a racist, I would have preferred that Steve picked Bucky.
-As others have said, the "all teh wammenz fight now" scene was dumb. Mostly because of how obvious it was that they were doing that. (Mantis in particular had no business being there as she isn't even a fighter.) Really though, my bigger problem was even in the context of the movie, Captain Marvel didn't need any backup- all vagina or otherwise... seeing as how powerful she is. My only real question is... If she's so freaking powerful (and in the few minutes they give Danvers in this film, they show that she is) Why didn't she do the Anti-Thanos snap herself when she had the gauntlet? She clearly could have survived it. She's portrayed as being hella stronger than Banner/Hulk (who had already survived the "bring everybody back snap") I'm not even really sure what her plan was...
-I didn't want to be that guy, but the time travel in this movie had some fucking stupid in it. They clearly wanted to have their cake and eat it too. They explicitly state: "You can't change the past, any alterations to the past result in an alternate timeline" That makes sense... I even get how there's now an alternate Gamora running around in the present who never met Quill or the other guardians (and will hopefully run into them again in Asguardians of the Galaxy). But Steve going back in time and having the life he "should have had" while neat, changed the time line... He should not have been an old man in the present, he should be an old man in the "present" of an alternate timeline by the rules they themselves laid out.
-I can forgive all the shit though, I still loved this movie.
I think the implication with Old Cap is that he was always around, just made sure to stay completely out of the Avengers stuff once he was back. The “alternative timeline” thing seemed to only implied to be a thing if a stone get removed from said timeline, according to the Ancient One.

If Old Cap was "always around" then the whole "you can't change the past" bit was a lie, (He literally changed the past because he HAD to go back in time to marry Peggy, so that clearly isn't what originally happened... or by this movie's logic, it's an alternate reality) And that frankly undermines half the movie.

Here we go....

I respect that. The two things that make me less than optimistic is that with Thor, as mediocre as the first 2 movies are (I get why people liked Ragnarok, but I personally couldn't get into it) he at least had the benefits of strong comedic moments with a funny, charismatic actor that were able to salvage the character despite the weak story and script. Even Black Panther, as overrated as it was, still manages to do this with Chadwick Boseman, and the main character is stronger for it. So far they don't seem willing to do the same for Captain Marvel and the style of humor clearly isn't playing to Larson's strengths.

Another thing that I can't help but notice is that Captain Marvel has next to nothing in terms of a supporting cast, which I think will ultimately bite them in the ass. Sure, there's Nick Fury, but you can't put all the heavy lifting onto a single side character or continue to swipe the cast from other, better films.
I place 100% of the blame at the feet of the directors and I want their heads on a spike for making something so mediocre.

Wish there was more nerding out in this thread. Liking things and being excited about them is fun. Like look at the detective Pikachu thread for goddamn’s sake.
I read the article and it’s about how some people can’t hold their pee long enough. Remember when people had to tough it out instead of expecting the world to completely change at their will? This is why humans are devolving!

It wasn't, hollywood lizardmen have no passion for anything but the flesh of human infants.
So better fund a generic soulless product shat out by the worst of Hollywood Lizard men imaginable!
He's been like that ever since Brie Larson didn't single-handedly sink the MCU like the Titanic by saying some dumb shit in an interview.
I never thought she would. Just it would happen gradually. These movies will go to shit anyway and Far From Home looks lame.

It's amazing how quickly you guys folded when CM made a billion dollars due to Endgame propping it up. Shows you guys are actually afraid of the mouse lol.

Yeah, Basic Becky Gerber was whining about it, as documented in her thread. All 'some of us have to drink water all the time, how dare you make such a long movie that I have to see without making sure it's all about my comfort and my needs!'

To which the correct response is, bitch, if you can't hold it for three hours, a length that numerous other films have been including previous 'Highest Grossing of All Time' movies like Titanic and Gone With the Wind, then you either go to the bathroom in the middle (and ideally get an aisle seat so you don't inconvenience anyone by doing so, but that level of forethought isn't expected of them, only of the rest of the universe) or you watch it at home when you can pause it.

The amount of 'this popular film is so problematic' articles around Endgame is nothing new, but it's interesting how badly they have to reach to complain. 'You have gay representation, but not soon enough or big enough for us,' 'You're too long for 'disabled' people, by which we mean people who are in no way actually disabled,' 'Your portrayal of Thor is body-shaming, PTSD-shaming, and offensive to transmen for ... some reason we can't actually explain but just trust us'.

I mean, I'm not likely to listen to the usual whining from people offended by their own shadow, but the bullshittery of the complaints, and some of the ones that are plot-specific but require ignoring all context, when calling the film problematic seem even more of a stretch than usual. I'd say clickbait, the problem being there's always people who actually believe that shit.

Dude come on we all know the only reason you're so asshurt is Larson said some woke shit. Hate to break it to you but Larson is far from the first actress to say dumb shit * and to her credit she did apologize * most people don't pay attention to celebrity gossip.

And even if Captain Marvel is dog shit you're acting like the MCU was high brow and not just the equivalent of cinema McDonalds and that shit movies don't routinely break the bank.

Nobody's saying you have to like Larson or CM but you're acting like she and Feige shot your dog and raped your mother.

Like seriously you remind me of the Speds who would hatewatch Bayformers and unironically cry that Bay was "raping their childhood" right now.

Show us on the doll where Bob Iger touched you.

And we all know what happened to Bayformers in the end. And Larson is just one of the many reasons I have developed a hatred for these movies. The fact these movies made Disney an overly powerful monopoly is one of them. Another is how half arsed they are at the end of the day.

He makes it sound like Bob Iger and some dude in a Mickey Mouse suit gang-banged him inside Space Mountain with Kevin Feige behind the camera.
So we are defending Bob Iger now?

That they're still making them and they still make money? And lol whut? Disney was a monopoly long before they bought Marvel.

I honestly thought her character didn't make any sense. the MCU is suppose to follow some real world events so they mention Black Widow doing some Soviet and KGb stuff despite being born in 1984.

In the MCU the Red Room was closed circa 1990, they were not exactly law abbiding agents, using childrens as agents was pretty much the norm

So here’s a dumb question that just popped into my head: How would someone like Venom be affected by the snap. Would the Gauntlet consider them one person or two

As one, Venom count as a parasite, you did not see bacteria remaining when they faded by the snap

She is barely into the film and only in minor parts at the beginning and end. She's in it so little that I wonder if Disney execs forced the directors to put her in the movie. They wanted a super duper girl hero in the avengers and they don't like black widow. You could cut her entirely out of the film and nothing major would be lost other than iron man getting home. Hell, it would remove the cringey gorl powa scene.

She suffer as something i like to call "The superman effect", practically she is so op that the movie pretty much ignore her opness until she appears and wreck a ship and have a slapfight with Thanos, this also happened in the Justice league movie where all the others heroes get sidelined when Clarks appears and wreck everyone to oblivion, come on, the movie even show Superman being faster than the Flash, you can also see this effect in the DC Animated Movies (in the most recently one someone managed to hurt Superman using a bullshit futuristic axe, exceptions to the rule)

The thing that surprised me recently is people calling bullshit the "multiverse" that now appeared with Far from home when it was explained again and again in Doctor strange that there are indeed other universes and realities out there

It's amazing how quickly you guys folded

Are you seriously annoyed at people for not getting mad at superhero movies?

"Folded" from what? How is it folding when half of the people here completely dismissed "Woke Brie" from the onset and the other half busted her balls but were content to just like the shit they're interested in and ignoring the shit they aren't.
