He can't get over the fact people know these movies are gonna SUUUUUCCCCKKKK now lol.

I think you misinterpreted one of my later comments. Are you a Reddit user, per chance? If so I can add a /sneed at the end of such remarks in order to let you know I'm being a scamp.

That said I'm not entirely convinced about the consistent quality of the future either, though anyone who isn't psyched for Asguardians of the Galaxy is autistic because that's going to be tits. There's gonna be gold for sure, but I'm not entirely sure it'll be a flawless record like it has been.

I enjoyed it, it had flaws, but I enjoyed it despite them and I enjoyed the conclusions Tony and Steve got

Oh sweet, they are doing that? That,Venom and Savage Avengers are the only nuMarvel shit I've cared about.

Wonder if we'll get Lessie/bi? Angela?

It was good. I'm thoroughly tired of the Marvel formula at this point after spending 10+ years building towards this so I'm pretty much done with the MCU going forward. Besides it's not like they can introduce something more powerful and threatening than IG Thanos outside of going full-on DC and bringing multiverses into it ( Jesus God would that be a clusterfuck). I might see one or two if they're really good (probably Guardians for sure) or bring in a villain like Magneto or Doom but I can't be assed to care about whatever big threat they build towards cuz it's not like genociding 75% of the universe next time is gonna be that much of an improvement.

Valkyrie as the new (Fem)Thor is a complete meh. She's been around for all of 30 minutes and didn't really stand out all that much as a character I should be inclined to give a shit about. Sam as Cap I can kinda accept given it's being faithful to the comics but again the only times we've ever seen him is with the rest of the Avengers so it's hard to gauge him as a character just yet.

There were a couple things that didn't make sense or come across too well. The most glaring one being Cap's conclusion. While I liked it as a good send off to a character I liked it doesn't make sense plot-wise because there should be a second, younger Cap now too. We already saw from his fight against himself that going back in time doesn't erase previous versions so even if he decided to stay with Betty or whatever that wouldn't prevent the Cap from that time from being thawed out and becoming the one we already know. Is history doomed to repeat itself with an endless cycle of Caps waking up and then going back in time or did past Cap just stop existing? Fucking time travel movies.

How the fuck did Tony acquire the stones at the end from what I gathered he simply absorbed them into himself while they were in the gauntlet and Thanos was still using (or about to use) them, I'm not entirely sure how that works. The stones themselves feel like somewhat of a missed opportunity like instead of using their individual powers to wreck Thanos the heroes were solely concerned with the snap (why do you have to snap your fingers to use the stones anyways?) like during the big battle when all the heroes were running around being chased with the IG at no point in time why did none of them actually consider using any of the stones?

Other observations:

Kinda surprised they murdered Thanos (twice). The first time he was just chilling as a space farmer, crippled and clearly not a threat anymore (like he did in the comics) and Thor just fucking lopped his head off and then the latter after his army got yeeted he was clearly finished and had given up but he still got turned into space dust anyways. Superheroes murdering villains who have ceased being a threat what is this a Zack Snyder film?

The grrl power moment was fucking stupid and I rolled my eyes when it happened. I didn't mind that it was in the film but rather it was in a part where it didn't make any sense plot-wise. Thousands of people and monsters fighting many of whom are already in pre-established groups and somehow all the girls (EXCEPT FOR NATASHA CUZ SHE WAS FUCKING DEAD LOL) found the opportunity to gather together just in time to rally behind Captain Poochy. Even for capeshit that was pretty fucking silly.

Black Widow was an hero who an hero'd. It's like poetry.

The only thing I’m worried about with GotG3 is the possibility that we’ll have to redo all the “will they won’t they” shit between Peter and 2014 Gamora from the last two films but I’m still waiting for a trailer before I make a decision.

Also is it just me or does it seem like Endgame killed a lot of enthusiasm for the Spider-Man film somehow? Everyone I’ve talked to in person mentions being done after Guardians and only remember that another Spider-Man flick is coming out when reminded of it, and even then it’s kind of a “yeah I guess I’ll see it” response.

That actually could be kind of interesting, if they play it right, less a 'will they, won't they', more a 'they will but how'. I'm mostly thinking of that Futurama episode 'Time Keeps on Slippin'', where Fry can't quite remember what he did to win her over in the first place. I doubt it'll end quite as perfectly as that episode though, and whatever sentimental conversation they have at the end of the film will no doubt end up tugging on her heart strings.

Perhaps, though it could also fall into the 50 First Dates category where the things Peter did that won Gamora over before don’t work this time around, which have equal chances of being either comedic and sweet or tedious memberberries & time wasting. Like I said, gonna wait for the trailer.
What enthusiasm?

Homecoming wasn't very good and I think that's what's being reflected in the lack of enthusiasm for Far From Home.
I dunno, I remember a lot of MCUfags calling Homecoming the quintessential Spider-Man film both on and offline when it first came out, and in turn hype for Far From Home when the trailer dropped. It seems like only recently have people’s attitudes have changed.

I think the simpler explanation for waning interest in Spiderman is simply burnout. People tolerated these movies being spaced a couple months apart when they were excited for Infinity War/Endgame and knew they were tying into a big finale, but they need to slow it down now. They should push it back to September or it risks ending up like Solo.

This is also coming from a Spider-man sperg, and I feel this decision of the MCU of distancing themselves from the iconic elements of Spider-man is gonna hurt them in the long run. Like at first the fanboys were excited at the idea of getting away from the Raimi films and the Amazing films, but like I feel the iconic elements are iconic for a reason. Mary Jane, Gwen, the Goblins, Venom, Jameson and the bugle...People like them and cliched as they are, they are important elements from the Spider-man mythos.

A Spider-man film series without any of these elements either is gonna grab the obscure shitty stuff from the 90s/2000s comics or starts inventing their own shit. And these things...Can either be hit or miss. And honestly, the idea of "Spider-man goes on vacations in Europe!" sounds so superfluous. And these movies with their original ideas are either ripping off from Miles' stories or just basic Disney Channel crap.

I mean, I figure Disney infantilized Spider-man to make him appeal to the teen crowd, but fanboys really need to understand that it's not really "the definitive" Spider-man. Sure he started out as a teen, but his most iconic stories occurred when he was an adult, tbh.

But who knows, maybe I'm wrong and it makes bucket loads of money at the box office.

I remember hearing the same shit about Amazing Spider-Man when it came out. "Oh its so much better than the Raimi films. Garfield is a much more believable Peter. Its good that their back in high school" etc, etc. Then ASM2 came out and everybody did an immediate 180 and claimed both films were shit. (you can also insert Force Awakens/Last Jedi into this analogy)

I thought she went back to her timeline? I didn't see her on the ship at the very end.

I really liked Homecoming. The mentor thing with Tony was a nice relationship shiny and I’ll be interested to see if it’s touched on in FFH.

That and I like what they’re doing with Mysterio
