I made a thread on here about Canada, my own country being a mess. But I recently looked into the situation in Australia and saw not only similarities but walked away with the idea hat it might actually be a worse place to live for ordinary people than Canada. It was much like Canada in many ways but somehow worse.

* I am shocked my Australian rent and real estate prices. That have to be the absolute worst I've ever seen on the western world.

* Immigration and student visa from the third world are disgustingly high much like Canada

* Public housing wait lists are decades long much like Canada.

* An apparent laggard public healthcare system except with out of pocket fees

This is all sounding much like a mirror child of my own country and knowing what I know it's not sustainable. Australia is also suffering from a low birth rate.

Australia sounds like a disaster in waiting. With such high living costs, immigration reliance and low birth rates the outlook is terrible.

they could have been cool british ex-prisoner cowboys they chose to be british faggy city dwellers, pretty sad

australia is basically hot canada
both are property of the bongistani king
both are massive, have a low overall population density but are inhospitable with everyone concentrated in a few big cities
both are only relevant because they export natural resources en masse
the only major difference is that canadians are faggots, and australians are glorious shitposters
sadly this doesnt overrule the similarities

Yeah Australia seemed the working man’s paradise until neoliberalism ruined that. However, the fact is that it’s always been a deeply corrupt country at the top level. Almost every single Australian billionaire made their wealth on the back of some monopoly or advantage given to them by the Government (rezoning, exclusive rights, re-categorisation of workers, etc.). From the land grants given to the squatters until they murdered Ben Hall and until today, it’s only ever been crony capitalism.

Same deal with Canada with the Family Compact and the Chateau Clique (led to some minor rebellions that went nowhere)

Apparently, Australia’s current federal government is filled with people who are economically illiterate. They have no understanding about what it takes to run a business.
