"Last Christmas" finally hits #1 in the UK.
Almost 40 (FORTY!!!) years after its release, "Last Christmas" hits the top.
When this song came out, if you rewound 40 years, you'd be listening to Big Band; Elvis would not even have been close to being on the radio 40 years before this song was released. Amazing how much music changed 1944-1984, and how little from 1984-today.
I've been on a bit of a George Michael jag lately, and though "Last Christmas" isn't exactly my idea of a radical, life-changing song, it is a lovely pop holiday song, but one I'm surprised has had the legs it has.
