I think it’s paranoid to assume there will be laws vs. bringing forth Japanese historians to set the record straight once and for all.

This whole mess has led to a rewriting of one of the most pivotal eras of their history. This isn’t grandma crying because you ran over a hooker in San Andreas.
 
The whole Netflix Cleopatra shitshow with her being black and getting fined by the Egyptian government was mainly because they called the show a documentary if I remember right. Ubisoft would definitely try to skirt responsibility by saying "it's historical fantasy" like always. Although there is the possibility the Japanese politicians get very autistic about this because they're trying to score points for nationalism stuff and looking like they're actually doing something of note while in office. It would be very funny if Ubisoft had to publicly retract statements about the numerous historical inaccuracies.

Netflix wasn't fined by the egyptian government. Yes, a few people working for the government complained but an angry egyptian Lawyer sued Netflix & demanded 2 billion dollars which is absolutely fucking batshit. Of course the lawsuit resulted in nothing. Incidents like this attract crazy people.

Let's not forget that Ubisoft is using the recent Assassin's Creed games (Origin, Odysee, Valhalla) as a tool for schools via the "discovery tour" mode.

I think the difference is that Egypt largely does not give a damn about its pre-Islamic history and culture beyond archeology and tourism while Japan very much loves every part of itself and is willing to fight for it. Classic Libtards, they think that every culture is the same and will have the same reaction to their bullshit.

This is what happens when you hire DEI fucks. The people who made Ghost of Tsushima did an exceptional job but a huge company like Ubisoft can't do it anymore? They got scammed by a fake japanese historian. How could this happen?

Hard to believe this used to be the same studio that autistically and painstakingly recreated the fucking Notre Dame. Now thanks to DEI hires and consultants (grifters) they put in anime swords, can't even get seating positions right and fucked up the architecture.

ubisoft is woke as fuck, top to bottom. they didn't care and were just too happy making a "historical" game around someone's fanfiction. anyone competent and sane has probably quit by now, or keeps doing the bare minimum without any passion.

This, and it's a bad look for them in general to have the culture you're doing a pastiche of to be so vehemently insulted by your directly offensive and racist depiction of them in their games.

I mean, for fuck's sake, the civilians bow to Yasuke as he walks around and he is intentionally designed to dwarf and brutalize his opponents. It feels like unironic BBC fanfiction.
