Not that I'm really aware of. I'm sure it could vary from region to region but Canada's native bands are riddled with drug problems and internal corruption. Not all of them of course, but enough of them that scraping a living together even though casino cash isn't viable in most places. Nobody wants to drive out to fuckall nowhere in Alberta just to play slots when they can be betting on rodeo instead.
Tourists do that shit all the time, it's not uncommon and some places in the world rely on that sort of tourism to be profitable, such as Japan's various animal towns/shrines/parks. Most animals (barring apex predators) aren't going to maul the first person who offers them food; the problem is that fed animals will start to associate humans with food and they stop being afraid or even apathetic towards people. Then if the first person doesn't have food on one of their visits or they decide to approach a second person for food and don't get any, animals tend to have immediate expectations and if they're more prone to acting out of frustration and biting.
It drives me nuts when I see someone feeding peanut butter crackers to raccoons and going "see it ate the cracker and didn't gnaw my fingers off, this animal is tame!", because it's just setting it up for the next person it goes up to to not have any of the food it's learned to associate with people and person B ends up getting harassed and/or bitten by a wild, probably diseased animal just because the first guy wanted to get a cool pic of a raccoon eating out of his hand.
I'm not even overly against human/wild animal interactions (namely non-sexual human/animal interactions; I hate that I have to specify that but this is Animal Control so clarification is unfortunately required); if a deer walked up to you and you gave it chin skritches it might be a bit risky (if nothing else than because they have ticks that carry lyme disease) but it's probably not going to do that with every person it comes across, because animals can comprehend social behavior on an individual level somewhat. Feeding, however, is another matter and easily leads to problems. Even domesticated animals like dogs, cats, and chickens can exhibit food aggression.

Makes sense. I'm trying to piece together what kind of tugboat this dude is on, because he's definitely on a tugboat. Reservation casinos in the United States frequently do per capita distributions of their profits, meaning that every member of that particular Indian nation gets a lump of free money every month just for existing. Back in college I had a professor talking about how great this is and how the money absolutely doesn't get immediately spent on firewater and meth.
His income arises from somewhere and I doubt he earns it himself, so this is interesting.
