But pedophiles and rapists disgust me. I cannot abide by that kind of person. It's the main reason I didn't go into Corrections like my Dad. I know my limitations and realized that I couldn't spend my life around people like that and not have it affect my home life. I can't disconnect myself from those kind of people. It stays with me.

Thanks ma'am. I like telling my stories. I love my job, especially all the weird stuff I see at night. The thing that sucks is when you're by yourself there is no one around to corroborate what you've experienced when you tell people what you saw. I've gotten used to people saying that I've spent a little too much time by myself at night and that it's starting to make me lose my grip on reality, or thinking that I'm just tellingbullshit stories.

Everyone kept telling me to go into security to get some work experience, but I couldn't come up with the money for the guard card and the live scan. Kinda glad, though. Physical or no, you've gotta be confrontational on the job and that's just not me.

My first confrontation was with the homeless guy in The wheelchair. I've been lucky to have never had a security situation go pear shaped on me. I'll have to tell you guys about when I was an EMT and responded to a guy who nearly cut his arm off. It's a long story and I'm only on my phone right now, so typing it out would be a bitch.

You do have to be able to confront people when they're being unreasonable. You've got to have a level of self confidence and be able to project a level of authority and assertiveness. It's not a job for everyone and if you feel that it's not right for you or beyond your personal limitations then I can respect that.

OK some of my weirder stories.
A few weeks ago I was guarding a construction site. I was sitting in me car filling out my log book when I notice in the upper peripheral of my vision a very bright orb of light. At first I thought "oh the moon came out." but then I realized at once that A. we didn't have a full moon that night B. it was the wrong size, it was much bigger than the moon, huge in fact C. it was the wrong color, it was a bright purpleish white like an ARC welder or plasma cutter and D. it was in the wrong place in the sky.
I looked at it for a while, I'm not sure how long, but a long while. Several minutes to be sure. I was entrance by it. I noticed that it seemed to have mass and that the light it was giving off was illuminating the field it was hovering over. I thought that maybe it was a helicopter with a search light, but it wasn't moving and even a helo hovering steady with a search light would make the light shimmy and shake from the vibrations of the engine and rotor blades. This was completely solid. And speaking of helicopters, there was one that was traveling northbound on the east side of the Salt Lake valley when it suddenly headed west towards the light as if it were coming to get a better look at it.
I was just about to get out of my car to look at it better when the light disappeared. And I don't mean disappeared light someone turned off a light, I mean it folded in on itself until it was just a pin prick of light then winked out leaving behind this aura or halo of light particles that took several moments to disappear themselves. Then the helicopter went back to it's original flight path.
Another incident involved an old building I was guarding. There was talk between the other guards and cleaning crew and pretty much anyone else who was in the building late at night about things getting moved around, people seeing shadow people, hearing footsteps and growling in dark places. I was intrigued because I was really into paranormal stuff at the time.
I was patrolling the basement one night and I started hearing footsteps behind me. I turned and there was no one there. I thought maybe it was my boots echoing down the concrete corridor, but they weren't. I turned to continue on and felt hot breath on the back of my neck. My skin went all gooseflesh and I felt a heavy hand on my right shoulder. I turned and saw a massive shadow right in front of me. I could see through it a bit, but it was like looking though really dark smoked glass and all distorted. It advanced on me and I turned and ran like I never had before. I made it to the stairs and never turned back. I transferred out of that site the next day and have never even driven past the building since.
I've been on other sites, several in fact, where I knew I was the only one on post and saw people who disappeared, heard voices, foot steps, breathing, felt like I was being followed. Usually I'd say a prayer and then tell them in the Name of the Lord to leave me alone. Usually they would, but one time when I did I heard laughing afterwards. That creeped me out a lot. It was not nice laughter.
One site I worked at was close to Hill Air Force Base. This one I was actually with people and they saw what I saw. I was talking with another guard. We were outside on a patrol and we heard this low pulsing sound, almost like a thrum. As it got louder we started to feel a bit disoriented and ill so we sat down on a bench. I looked up at the sky and saw that the stars were blacked out by a massive black triangle. If you are into UFOlogy this type of phenomena is called and Big Black Delta. At each of the points there were faint blue-white lights that pulsated in synch. Along the leading edges were rows of lights that I think were probably windows or portals and every once in a while they would each get dark as if someone were standing there looking out. It floated over the Air Base and then up over the mountains to the east. There is a squadron of F16s at Hill, in fact it was the first USAF base to get the F16 when they came out. We saw a group of four F16s on full afterburn take off after it. You can tell when an aircraft is on afterburn because the jet exhaust flame as multiple diamond patterns trailing out behind it. A moment later the sonic booms hit us. That was really exciting. We looked around and there was a group of about 6 or 7 of the site personnel watching it all happen with us. We all looked at each other with this gobsmacked looks on our faces. That was the coolest weird thing to ever happen to me on a job site.
There is another story I have, but it still freaks me out to think about it even after 10 years. I may tell you guys about it, but I dunno. I've only told a handful of people. My wife doesn't even know about it.

It wasn't anything like that. I don't think it was a demon, but it would probably be best described as a cryptozoological creature. Like I said, I really am not comfortable talking about, or even thinking about, the situation or even describing what it looked like. Best way I can think to describe what happened without thinking about it much or going into too many upsetting details was I was stalked by something inhuman for several nights. This is the kind of story that when you tell it people think you've lost your mind or are a liar. I actually regret bringing it up, but sometimes I get caught up in telling the weird stories I have.
