Something I don't remember in last year was even mentionned 'art gifting game' Probably too many unrealistic expectation and entitlement happened since

They went back and fully clarified this yesterday.

All other rules were only reworded to clarify what we already enforced. As such, we felt we did not need to release a feedback form at that time. The previous “no tracing” rule was a flat ban on any type of tracing. This rule was implemented around 10 years ago due to concerns regarding potential art theft, as well as the complexity that a topic like tracing raises when it comes to making rules for an art game.

It was never our intention to place judgement on any specific art techniques with this rule. We recognize that, in recent years, the perception of "tracing" (as it pertains to photographs and basic 3D models for initial sketches) has shifted greatly within the community. Art Fight wishes to adapt to the changing landscape of the art world, and in response to user feedback, we agreed that it was necessary to take the time to revisit our policy on tracing. It is our hope that we have struck a solid balance between fostering our users’ creativity and freedom, while also preserving the integrity of Art Fight and preventing art theft.

We recognize that many users felt blindsided by the update due to such large changes in our rules’ wording. When we noticed this, we wanted to act quickly to let our user base know that we were attentive to their concerns. However, in our haste we pushed out an announcement without making sure that our wording was solid. This caused further confusion in the community, the opposite of what we intended, and we are deeply sorry for that. We will make sure for all newsposts going forward, including this one, that our wording is as precise as possible.
