There's no reason to make it stupid hard. It's never been like that before.

From the trailer it looks like there's probably going to be a lot of upgrade options and auxiliary modes you can use. I just hope the customization isn't janky. Although my memory of For Answer's mechanics is very fuzzy.
 
Armored Core once again providing fantastic trailers/cinematics.

Now I've only ever played AC4 and didn't really think much of it at the time despite liking mecha generally. As I recall, the missions were short and barebones, the story was really vague even beyond Souls standards, and I disliked how the high speed and range of combat made enemies barely visible unless they were supermassive war machines. These are things that I hope are changed in this new game, and I feel pretty good about that happening given FromSoftware's accrued and celebrated experience in the past decade and my understanding that Armored Core games are by no means static in how they play, already varying quite a bit with each entry. The titular mechs are still boosting around in this new trailer, but they might not be at the speed that I played before.

Now putting aside the widespread speculation over what the gameplay is going to be like, something else I wonder about is how this game is going to look graphically. FromSoftware has long excelled in their visuals via art direction rather than graphical fidelity, their weakness in the latter most apparent when you compare Elden Ring to Bluepoint's PS5 Demon's Souls. Can we then expect the same for AC6? Or will there be improvements on graphics since they're now dealing with purely mechanical entities in sparse environments, similar to how racing simulators are often graphically impressive because of the specific subject matter of cars? Perhaps we can expect something like Ace Combat 7. There's also the matter that Armored Core VI is slated for prev-gen consoles.

People have gotten so used to Fromsoftware being “the guys that made dark souls” that they forget that they made other games before.

Due to Fromsoftwares recent history they might try to make this into “mech dark souls.” Which I love dark souls, but it has its place, and armored core isn’t for that.
