During one of the Sonic TIHYDP clips, Arin keeps on relapsing about 'I could have been an animator instead'. Chances are if Youtube actually gave a damn about animators more Arin would be doing something besides trying to meme for teens on the internet. People have been beggin him to continue his animation projects for years, so him going back once he runs out of co-hosts/friends/fans is going to be well past 'too late'.
 
Arin can go back to animating whenever he wants. It doesn't have to be for youtube, he could get a job at a company. He probably just doesn't want to put in the work.

A lot of people did, but I think Arin's biggest issue now is the fact that his animations were a product of their time. While they would likely still be fairly popular if released today, Arin wouldn't allow himself to be as politically incorrect in new ones as he used to be due to his newfound lefty pandering. His Newgrounds humor wouldn't be there anymore and that kind of was his animations entire personality.

Some of the biggest channels on YouTube right now are those story time """animations""" though. They make mad bank pumping out all sorts of merchandise like board games or shitty books that no one wants and get invited to the rewinds and all the other stuff from the YT inner circle I'm sure. If Arin wanted to get back into animation, he wouldn't even have to try considering the norm now is more slideshows than animation, and just drawing your persona in 4-5 different poses and copy pasting them throughout the video.

Hell, he wouldn't have to stick to the story time format, people do all sorts of things in the feigning animation genre. He could do awful reviews, deliver more cringy social commentary on topics no one cares about, unfunny reaction videos, the possibilities are endless. Arin just doesn't want to animate/draw anymore, and any time he whines about how he wishes he could he's just lying or too lazy to even draw a smug picture of himself crossing his arms and talk about nothing for 10 minutes.

That would require him to be entertaining and relatable. Those story time animators has decent enough personalities and guessing by Arin's record, he'll just piggyback off them until they decide to give him the finger and ditch him. He is friends with James, Jaiden, and a few others IIRC, so it should be easier for him to do that instead.
 
Let's be real: He'd go back to making animation videos and podcasts and collabs and the minimal actual animation work to maximize his relevancy. He could make a 45 minute sit-down talk-and-draw and drown in people wanting to guest.
 
When was the last time Arin animated anything beyond just pointless clips? Like actually sat down and thought out a project. Depending on how long it's been, I feel a genuinely interesting idea would be a short series about him trying to shake off the rust. But I suppose that might force introspection and we can't have that.
