I dislike being in water in general. Maybe it's because I feel much more helpless in a body of water than on land. I do not like it.

Yes. When I was 6 or 7, my family was visiting a lake by our home in Alaska where the water got murky as you got further out. When I went to where the water was over my shoulders at about the point where you couldn't see the bottom, I stepped on something sharp, probably a piece of broken beer bottle and my foot bled for quite a while. To this day, I won't go barefoot in still, murky water. Oceans don't bother me as much because the water tends to carry out that kind of thing.

No, I don't mind silty lakes. It's just a natural feature of some of them and nothing to be afraid of. Maybe I'd feel different if I lived somewhere with gators though.

I love the water, used to swim in rivers, lakes and whatever was in that quarry until a friend of mine got some kind of bacterial infection from a tiny scratch. Goddamn that was gross.

I still wade from time to time in questionable waters but only if it's necessary and I wear waders.

I don't fear the water but I respect it and all the disgusting critters it contains.
