I understand that, but is there a unwritten rule I should know?
"Unwritten rules" are exactly why you lurk, that's the thing. Reading the rules is how you avoid getting banned. Reading cybersecurity 101 is how you avoid getting JULAAY yelled into your phone by tards. Lurking is how you avoid pissing everybody off and never having any fun because you don't know what's going on half the time.

if someone asks you to tell them more it's probably time to stop talking

this is a prime example of something i wish i would have lurked long enough to learn tbh, didn't get doxed or anything but i looked like a tool

Yeah, "lurk more" is always good advice, don't double-post, don't drift off the thread's topic like I probably do way too much, don't A-log, don't take shit too seriously.

The shit written in green under every thread title is usually pretty on-point IMO- it's mostly common sense.

If you're planning to make an OP please don't write it like a fucking idiot. Archive everything. Make sure the person is funny and not just "grr this guy is ebil weird dude #24123541" or some shit like that. Archive everything. Write concise like an actual article, or if you're trying to sell something to us (which you essentially are.) Archive everything.

ARCHIVE. EVERYTHING.
