@MarineTrainedTard is right on the money, I think. What I've found, as lefty feminist that thinks for themselves, is that SJW is bandied about as a slur against anyone who is to the left of the person using it. It's become completely meaningless, if it wasn't meaningless from the beginning. I think "alt right" is the same kind of bullshit from the other side.
Echo chambers are boring, and if you can't deal with people who disagree with you, then you lack maturity. I like it here because people are pretty respectful of each other's beliefs, so long as you're not being a fucktard, and can agree to disagree.

They're deceived by the devil. I do think most of them have good intentions, they're just very young and inexperienced, with limited observational skills.
The younger generation's CRIPPLING historical illiteracy can't help, either: there's nothing new under the sun, but you can't know if you won't read it. History of different cultures should be stressed- honestly, you'd be surprised how much medieval Chinese court politics/anecdotes like the "calling a deer a horse" applies to modern American stuff like PC, for instance. And how the creeping eminence of the 11th-century Japanese Fujiwaras reflects the dangers of corruption and growing power in political dynastic families. Classic literature is also a unmistakable treasure- it's classic for a reason. It speaks to universal facets of the human condition. But despite their obsession with racism, these kids know nothing. They could learn SO MUCH from studying history- including foreign history- but they DON'T. It's willful ignorance!

Theres always been those crazy gooks that go on about shit like this and unfourtunately since the internet has been made their influence is bigger than ever.
Example: During the 70s-80s a comic series from Viz is produced called "Millie Tant" - a militant feminist character who shows similarities with SJW women and a series called "New Age Parents" - which two adults are constantly forcing 'hippy' ideals, akin to the mentality of modern day sjws and their ilk.
Indeed the SJW has always been with us.
Are they evil? Well their hearts are in the right places, but the really spiteful ones aren't doing themselves a favour.

There are truly evil people in the world. They're out there. And I'm not talking about gangbangers or rapists. I'm talking nightmare-fuel people who operate largely unchecked in places of the world that don't have the resources to stop them. (Places like Myanmar, Somalia, Nigeria, etc...) So I'm going to have to say no; A bunch of entitled, perpetual-children who don't like being told when they're wrong are not even close to being evil. They're just dumb-asses.
It's also ironic that these same dumb-asses think that women getting catcalled on the street or guys taking up one-and-a-half seats on the bus is the face of "true" evil. I sincerely hope that none of them ever run into truly evil people. They have absolutely zero chance of surviving that encounter.

Like others said, I don't think a SJW is necessarily evil. They can genuinely believe they're standing up for what they think is right.

I wouldn't say they're evil, but they are definitely lacking in intelligence and think that everyone who isn't trans/female/ethnic/whatever is automatically a terrible human being. They also have a huge tendency to make mountains out of molehills, bitching about trivial matters, especially since the vast majority live in the United States, one of the most advanced and open-minded countries in terms of culture. Now, there are people who DO act racist or misogynist or w/e, but literally every country in the world has people like that. I really believe if they seriously do want to see change they should travel and volunteer for charities and such, instead of whining on tumblr/twitter and telling people to "check their privilege"

Don't care about "evil", but they just have no reason to exist. Western society is probably the best place to be a minority in. Not to say there is no more work to be done, but if you actually look at the relevant statistics, things have steadily improved on that front in the United States. If you want to fight a "war" for social justice, consider the Middle East or Africa.
If anything, SJWs have done nothing but harm the causes of the minorities they think they're helping, to the point where Trump is now the president elect of the USA. But of course, to them, that's just proof that they have been right all along.
To me, social justice is nothing but a stage for annoying people to live out their histrionic tendencies at this point. The movement might have been more positive once, but the complete unwillingness to be critical of their own was its death.
I don't think it's conscious, though. To them, everything they do is necessary, all men are rapists, all whites are oppressors, women get raped constantly and so on. If you get all your news and opinions from tumblr, that's what happens. It's a degree of delusion that can safely be compared to a cult, but without any form of structure.

I don't think SJW's are evil like anyone else has said. They aren't evil but they can show signs of idiocy like anyone else. It is one thing to crusade for civil rights for groups likes transgendered individuals but it's another thing to bitch and moan how some TV show isn't pandering to their group or how some story written in the 1400's or 1500's of Europe isn't showing POC's or using the damsel in distress device.
That said, SJW's are also like other group where you have individuals that are in it simply to sate their ego rather than trying to crusade for some cause likes LGBTQ rights and such. Not to mention, as @Too Many Crooks has said, they're annoying. And like @Satan said, they have a moral compass that isn't wired correctly so they will pretty much come off as annoying over certain things.
That said, SJW's are also like other group where you have individuals that are in it simply to sate their ego rather than trying to crusade for some cause likes LGBTQ rights and such. Not to mention, as @Too Many Crooks has said, they're annoying. And like @Satan said, they have a moral compass that isn't wired correctly so they will pretty much come off as annoying over certain things.

well, yes and no
i would split sjws into two camps. action and reaction, basically think of them as leaders and followers.
actions are the ones who yell the loudest, the ones who want their names on the TV on the computer screens.
these people are evil and they know it. these people just want to exploit other people for money.
notice how these people open up lines to leech money off of people anytime something happens (like how anita sarkessian started asking for funds when trump was elected (yeah, poor upper class white is suffering)).
if they wanted change, they would actually go after problems, but instead they pick on people and media that has a harder time of fighting back; or if they fought back would be demonized immediately.
they usually tend to play up stereotypes for the sake of making themselves a victim (assuming women are damsels is horrible, but uh, i man itched his balls once i need money i'm distressed woman help!)
reactions just follow, they want to be part of the crowd, they want to fit and belong.
they aren't evil, just dumb and too attached to the idea of wanting to fit exclusively to their peers.
they might mimic the actions, and at some point they might decide that constant praise and money is the best feeling and turn into an action.
but otherwise they feel they are being seriously hurt when someone does something they consider wrong, problem is that they are just mentally weak.

They want to be on par with the likes of Martin Luther King because they really have nothing else going on in their personal lives which are remotely exciting.
What I find interesting to note about them, is that they are the only crowd where you will run into gender snowflakes. You will rarely run into a gender-fluid-non-binary-Trans person who is a gun toting conservative- they're almost exclusively college liberals.

I think that's more of a result of conservative people closeting themselves (to their own detriment), as well as liberals encouraging people to hyperanalyze anything that might hint at a gender identity problem.
Conservative people certainly do exhibit gender issues.

They exhibit a lot of issues but so do most people.
I know a woman that has convinced her boyfriend that he is either trans or gender variant solely because he sometimes likes to be the passive spooner.
