Are ghosts real?

Is there the slightest chance that they really exist, or have ghosts always been nothing more than a man made construct?

Do the thousands of documented cases where people have reported supernatural encounters have any validity, or was every one of them a trick of the fallible human brain, St. Elmo's fire, swamp gas or some combination thereof?

Is it possible, assuming an afterlife is an actual thing, for spirits to get trapped between the mortal realm and the hereafter, either out of unfinished business or unnatural deaths wrought with torrid emotions? What about "energy pockets?" Dancing lights? Psychic projections?

If ghosts were real finding one wouldn't be extraordinary at all, they'd be as common as flies. Humans have been around for 100,000 years, the dead outnumber us by a lot.

To be serious, I don't know. Very possible, but could equally just be our mind tricking us. Who really knows. There are people who do try to exploit people's belief in the supernatural for nefarious ends.

I'm open to the possibility. I've seen, heard and felt shit that has made me wonder.

What I don't believe in is the "science" behind using EMF meters to "hunt" ghosts. There is zero validity to that at all. Who proved ghosts emit electromagnetic fields? That would mean a ghost would have been subject to the scientific method, which would be the end-all proof there are ghosts. So yeah, that's bullshit.
