there are subtle signs and the environment matters like @SandyCat said, but this one's 100% certain: any time you hear the manlet theme playing/it starts playing somewhere near you, you're about to find dwarves.

If you see them tottering around you can just pick them up and put them in your car. They walk like penguins :3

Have you guys noticed there’s a lot fewer of them? I remember seeing a lot when I was a kid.
