Yeah honestly, most people would be fine with an M1. It was a node ahead of everyone else in 2021 which means it feels like a very modern machine even today in 2026.

This line of thinking is why the market lost the entire middle section to shitty plastic Win11 laptops on one end and shitty plastic with RGB lighting "gamer" laptops on the other. Even worse since the Neo was actually starting to bring it back, too.

That in a bad economy people are going to stop buying high end computers and electronics because theyre pushed out of the market by ever increasing prices and stagnant wages?

Is your life dependent on right now of having the latest Apple product? Is ANYONE in such dire need to function they must have brand new Apple/Microsoft/Sony/Nintendo products?
These are luxuries. I may be wrong but I dont think anyone on this planet physically needs the absolute latest greatest computer/console/laptop when a basic one does the job

A commodity would be any laptop. computer or phone. A luxury is getting something brand new because its name brand and fancy.

Total crap. I have never in my life bought a 'latest product'. I am typing on a 2012 laptop. But it's not that the 'latest' products are more expensive, all new products are more expensive, and used prices are rising too. All so that kike scammers like Altman can waste massive amounts of investor cash, much of it taken from the pension funds of actual human beings, to try to become the Amazon of AI.

Buying a good M1 when they first came out (and it was damn hard to buy a bad one, even the 8GBs still do well but fuck me if the single monitor shit was a complete clusterfuck) was probably one of the best bang/buck ever for a computer. Those things are still running fine.

Well RAM and HD prices have gone crazy (as has inflation). Apple is just trying to maintain their ridiculous profit margins and stupid markups on RAM and HDs. I still prefer MacOS over Windows though.
