SAN FRANCISCO: Apple has removed a religious app from App Store after a petition by an LGBTQrights organisation called for its removal as the app portrayed homosexuality as "sickness" and "sin".

According to a report in Fortune on Sunday, the app was created by Living Hope Ministries, a Texas-based religious group.
The app sought lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, transgender, intersex, queer, questioning, two-spirit, asexual (LGBTQ) youth "to change from gay-to-straight through prayer and therapy".

"We thank Apple for exemplifying corporate responsibility and taking swift action to remove a dangerous app that stigmatises and demeans LGBT people," Wayne Besen, Group Executive Director of non-profit Truth Wins Out that began the petition, said in a statement.

Ricky Chelette from Living Hope Ministries Executive, however, told NBC News that "we only help those individuals who are seeking us".

Chelette added that he was not informed in advance that Apple would remove the app.

Apple was yet to issue a statement on the app's removal.

Criticizing Judeo-Christianity is so easy, a child could do it. Nothing makes it hard to do this, and in some places you gain social capital for it.

Criticizing Islam is hard. Overly sensitive Muslims and Islamophiles in the mainstream media and popular culture will ostracize you for it. Certain Muslims will even go so far as to terroristically threaten and even attempt to physically attack you for it.

There is a reason why the term "Islamophobia" exists and is accepted in academia but not "Christianophobia" or some other analogous concept.

That's why that the aspiring critic of religion in current year should focus mainly on Islam. Judeo-Christianity has been done to death, and not much in new arguments have been made on either side of the aisle.

It's because these pearl-clutching idiots are little shits, it's the same reason they can write essays about "toxic masculinity" because the main character in [current superhero movie] is a white male, but won't lose a word about women getting honor-killed by their own family members for the shame of letting themselves getting gang-raped in some shithole-trier country. (or in your very neighborhood, since we started importing these ass-backwards fucks for some reason) They only like easy targets, where they can control the narrative and they know their targets won't actually strike back, or shuffle nervously about and bend over backwards to show that they're are not as bad as all that. If they're confronted with real adversaries who just get more pissed off because of their screeching, they go running scared really quickly.

Apple may have forbidden a Christian app regarding homosexuality, but its Silicon Valley neighbor and smart phone competitor Google is fine with offering an app enabling Muslims to report blasphemy to the police. Perhaps it has escaped the notice of the powers that be at Google that Islamic doctrine is even harsher toward homosexual acts than Christianity. Google has officially approved an app for use in Indonesia enabling blasphemy, including about homoseuxality, to be reported:

A new Android app has launched with the focus of allowing Muslims to report individuals who commit blasphemy, or insult Islam.

No, this is not a joke. The app, “Smart Pakem”, which launched in Indonesia last month at the request of the Indonesian government, will allow users and government officials to uphold Sharia law and target and report people who hold “misguided” beliefs in violation of Islamic law, which forbids insults of Islam, insults against the Prophet Mohammed, or the recognition of any other religion besides Islam.
