God damn the moon landings were fucking incredible. I wanted to shitpost about how it was all fake, but it was such an incredible accomplishment I just can't bring myself to do it after watching the trailer. Nearest showing is hours away unfortunately. I'd love to see it.

Do it. It is the major sections of the 8 day journey in real time. The entire movie is archive footage and audio, with some radio segments thrown in at the start for narration and some diagrams to provide context. The Saturn V taking off sounds like the Roar of God. The lunar module's landing is tense as fuck. I'd talk about it more, but I'd just ruin it.

I think that I've seen it, was it available right before the actual anniversary date?

It was pretty good, especially the time when Neil trips over Lunohod-1 and the soviet flag there ... "fuckin commies"

those were good times comrades.
